Chapter 331
Tiffany blinked. "Where are we going?"
Richard said, "You'll know when we get there."
He took her to Nocturne Arena, a venue hosting thrilling and exciting activities. Tiffany recalled a bet she'd made with Ged there: whoever lost would strip in the middle of the arena. Ged lost spectacularly. His hilarious striptease was recorded and played periodically, always bringing the house down.
When Tiffany entered, the striptease was playing. Ged's lively, inexplicably cute figure was shown on the large screen above. Someone nearby commented, "He dances quite well, I'll give him that. Although it's hilarious and stunning, he's quite passionate."
The crowd laughed. Their comments were mostly good-natured teasing of Ged.
Tears welled up in Tiffany's eyes. It felt like yesterday, yet people vividly remembered Ged, as if he'd never left. She smiled, stood, and picked up her familiar bow and arrow. She gently brushed her fingertips across the bow, so intimately familiar with every line she could have drawn it from memory. She nocked an arrow and hit the bullseye.
On the high-definition LCD screen, Ged had finished his dance and was smiling brightly at the camera, seemingly quite pleased with himself. After the competition, Tiffany had left without watching. Now, watching it again, she felt a wave of nostalgia.
She thought, People are so different. Some, like Sandra and Melody, are full of schemes. But Ged is different. He openly challenged me, and wholeheartedly accepted his loss. In the end, he even submitted to me and admired me.
Chapter 331
Tiffany's eyes darkened slightly. Then she asked, "By the way, where is Yvonne?"
The dark prison was located in the Royal Bay's back mountains. A hidden mechanism opened the entrance to a completely different world underground. Tiffany walked in alone.
Watching her disappear, John scratched his head. "Richard, is it dangerous to let Madam go in alone?"
Richard glanced at him, his eyes inscrutable. The wind blew, carrying the scent of begonias. After a long pause, he said with a faint smile, "Don't underestimate my wife."
Inside the dark prison, Yvonne, curled on the ground, trembled at the sound of approaching footsteps. Her heart pounded. Is it him? Is it him?
A slender figure appeared. Yvonne's hopeful expression was replaced by hatred. "Why aren't you dead yet?"
Tiffany walked closer, her smile fading. "At this point, how could you still not know you've failed?"
Recently, Tiffany had mistakenly thought Richard had abandoned her. On her way back from Royal Bay, people on the mountaintop had tried to kill her with sniper rifles. She'd shot back three times, each arrow finding its mark.
Ten days had passed since the incident. Yvonne's wounds were infected and inflamed from lack of treatment. She also had a long scar on her face. Locked in the dark prison, neglected and awaiting death, she knew she had less than five days to live.
Yvonne gritted her teeth. "So you're here to laugh at me?"
"Not entirely," Tiffany said, squatting down. "To be precise, this matter is over. I can let you go."
"Let me go? Are you that kind? Heh." Yvonne sneered, disbelieving her.
Tiffany tossed her a pill. Her smile was distant. "Smart people know how to choose. It's your choice to live or die."
Yvonne was speechless, finding it unbelievable that Tiffany was threatening and offering a choice simultaneously.
Chapter 331
Yvonne wondered if Tiffany considered her a pushover. But the reality of death made Yvonne prioritize survival over dignity. She didn't want to die. So, as Tiffany impatiently withdrew her hand, Yvonne quickly swallowed the pill.
Tiffany feigned a smile. "Aren't you afraid it's poison?"
Yvonne remained silent. She wasn't a fool; she recognized the priceless pill. Miracle Healer's magical pills were sky-high on the black market, impossible to obtain even with money. She couldn't fathom how Tiffany obtained it or why she was so generous.
Before she could ponder, Yvonne felt an intense itch, the pain easing. The pill's effect was potent, particularly on her severe injury. It would take time for complete healing.
Yvonne sighed in relief. Her life was saved. "What do you want me to do?"
Tiffany said slowly, "I want you to spy on someone."
"Why me?" Yvonne asked, concealing her jealousy. "It's trivial. If you tell Mr. Hampton, he'll avenge you, let alone spy."
"Cut the crap and do as I say." Tiffany stood, adding, "The medicine is indeed poisonous; you'll only survive if you obey."
Yvonne's hopes were dashed. No wonder she was so generous. She had a trick up her sleeve!
"You're unbelievable!" Yvonne pounded the ground. Tiffany had already left.
Stepping into the sunlight, she saw neatly trimmed grass, begonias extending up the mountainside, a distant waterfall, and a strikingly handsome man.
Tiffany blinked in amazement. Richard pulled her into his arms. With a faint smile, he asked, "What idea did you come up with? Tell me."
Chapter 331
Tiffany explained, "I asked Yvonne to spy on Melody." Her choice of Yvonne, a time bomb, was deliberate; Tiffany wouldn't let go of someone who had tried to kill her multiple times. It was a deal both understood.
Richard said, "So you want to kill two birds with one stone?" He raised an eyebrow. "There's no need for so much trouble. At most…" He paused. He could simply make them both disappear; it would be simpler and more direct.
Tiffany's resentful gaze stopped him. He quickly rephrased, "That's a brilliant idea! My lady, you're so smart and resourceful!"
John thought, Mr. Hampton, will you ever say no to your wife?
