Chapter 340
Melody rarely took leave. Furthermore, Kenneth had publicly confessed his love for her yesterday with 999 roses. This news spread rapidly throughout the school, sparking envy among many girls. Today, both Melody and Kenneth were absent, prompting speculation. Whispers filled the hallways:
"Mr. Harper confessed to Melody yesterday, but neither of them came today. Could they have gone on a date?"
"I think it's more than a date. It's definitely a proposal!"
"Wow, I'm so envious!"
Tiffany was packing her books, preparing to leave the classroom, when she overheard the word "proposal." She paused, Richard's handsome face instantly appearing in her mind. Last night, that handsome, mysterious man had whispered in her ear, "It takes money to get married. I have to work hard to save up for wedding gifts." He'd also said, "When I come back, marry me, okay?"
Tiffany couldn't forget his words, causing her to blush. Even now, she could still feel his warm breath beside her ear and his faint, refreshing fragrance. Richard's charming eyes, deep and alluring, were like a bottomless pool, drawing her in. She felt trapped, her face burning.
She quickly gathered her books and left the classroom, a blush coloring her cheeks. Many people stared as she walked slowly across the sprawling campus. The young girl in her school uniform seemed to radiate light, stunning everyone. Under the sun, her delicate face held a faint blush, making her look like a fairy. Her bright eyes shone; her face, angelic and attractive, captivated all who saw her. Gasps followed her every step. Tiffany was indeed Lovell City's prettiest girl.
As she neared the school gate, her phone buzzed twice. She smiled at the message's contents.
Chapter 340
Tiffany mused, "It's started."
It was six in the evening when Thalia left her house for a high-class beauty salon. Membership required a diamond black card, with recharges starting at $200,000. As a dancer, Thalia prioritized maintaining her figure, face, and skin. Even in her forties, she could afford the best skincare, and she looked young and dignified. However, she noticed something unusual. Recently, despite neglecting her skincare routine, her skin remained remarkably flawless; she even seemed to be experiencing reverse aging, a legendary phenomenon. She looked younger than ever.
Thalia found this strange. She suspected it was due to Tiffany's miracle healer medicine, obtained to treat occasional headaches. Not only had the medicine cured her headaches, but her skin had become unbelievably smooth. This time, she hadn't intended maintenance, but several noble ladies had invited her, and after repeated refusals, she couldn't decline.
Sitting in her car, Thalia looked at the congested traffic. "Is there a traffic jam?" she asked her chauffeur.
"It's rush hour, Mrs. Kelley. Shall we take a different route?"
"Okay," Thalia nodded.
The chauffeur changed course. Amidst the traffic, they didn't notice a red sedan following them at a leisurely pace. The car followed Thalia from the Kelley family home to the beauty salon—over half an hour.
Inside the red sedan sat Yvonne and Melody. Yvonne reminded Melody, "We're three minutes away. How do you plan to get her involved?"
Their plan, discussed the previous day, was to follow Thalia and act when the moment was right. They had unsuccessfully tried to bribe a servant to learn the Kelley family's whereabouts. For safety, they waited near the family home until Thalia left alone. It seemed like the perfect opportunity.

Yvonne gripped the steering wheel, saying hatefully, "Just take revenge on this family! Why the self-harm act? Wouldn't it be easier to just bill Thalia?"
"No!" Melody immediately refused. "I have my own intentions. Just act according to the situation and control the braking distance." Her goal was to return to the Kelley family and gain their acknowledgment, protecting her biological mother.
Yvonne reluctantly agreed, "Got it."
At the next intersection, the red car stopped. Melody quickly exited and reached the beauty salon entrance as the Kelley family's car waited at a traffic light.
Three minutes later, as Thalia exited her car, she heard a familiar voice.
"Mrs. Kelley?" Melody's voice was timid and surprised.
Thalia turned and saw Melody, who smiled and waved. "What a coincidence, Mrs. Kelley! I didn't expect to see you here!"
Thalia smiled gently. But then, blinding headlights flashed. A red sedan lost control and careened toward the sidewalk, directly toward Melody, whose back was turned.
"Watch out!" Thalia's expression changed. Without hesitation, she rushed forward and pushed Melody out of the way. The headlights flashed again. Thalia couldn't dodge. She closed her eyes, her heart unusually calm. There was no regret, only relief. She sighed, thinking, 'What a relief. I owe my daughter so much. Saving her is my duty.'
She heard screams, but the expected impact didn't come. Slowly, she opened her eyes. A slender figure stood before her—Tiffany, her expression calm, but a fierce look in her clear eyes. She hadn't moved. The red car was inches from her legs.
Thalia was shocked and panicked. She rushed to Tiffany, trembling as she checked her legs. "Are you injured? Are you alright?"
"Mom, I'm fine," Tiffany said, smiling, showing no worry.
Thalia, anxious and angry, slapped Tiffany's bottom, tears in her eyes. She couldn't bring herself to be harsh, but her anxiety was overwhelming. She stomped her foot and scolded Tiffany, "How could you be so stupid? Why didn't you move? Why did you rush forward? If something happened to you"
Initially, she rejoiced, glad to have taken the blow for her daughter, whom she owed so much. Even if dangerous, Thalia wouldn't hesitate; she wanted to atone for her guilt. But she hadn't expected Tiffany to rush in front of her as well.
