Chapter 365

Royal Bay. In the low-key, luxurious master bedroom, Sidney, called in late at night, gave Tiffany a checkup. "Miss Kelley is in good health and has strong self-healing abilities," he said. "She'll be fine once the fever subsides."

Richard, relieved, corrected him. "She's not Miss Kelley. She's my wife."

Sidney's eyes widened. He hadn't expected such words from the always cold and aloof Richard. Excited, he teased, "It's not easy. You've always avoided women like snakes and scorpions, but you're finally moved!"

He continued, "Moreover, once Richard sets his heart on someone, his nature is such that he'll never let go." Sidney, though excited, felt a pang of emotion. "This is both good and bad. It means the powerful and indestructible Mr. Hampton will have a weakness. Hopefully, Tiffany won't become his weakness" He lowered his eyes, his eyelashes concealing his worry.

Just then, Tiffany stirred on the bed, about to wake. Richard immediately dismissed Sidney. "There's nothing else for you to do. Get out."

"What?" Sidney protested. "I was summoned in the middle of the night, worked hard to treat and save her, and now you want to send me away?"

Richard, his tall figure standing by the bed, looked at Sidney disdainfully. "What else do you expect? The first person my wife sees when she wakes up must be me."

Sidney was shocked. How could he be so jealous? he thought. Alright, you lovebirds, keep being cuddly!

"Bye," Sidney said, his expression heartbroken. The single man left, remembering to close the door.

On the large bed, Tiffany frowned. The scene of her drowning still reverberated in her mind; the fear and powerlessness remained vivid. She felt as though she were still floating in the river, utterly alone.

Then, as she fully opened her eyes, she saw the spacious, bright bedroom and the handsome man before her. She blinked. "Where am I?" Her voice was dry and hoarse. She looked at Richard pitifully and pouted. "I want to drink water"

Her hair was disheveled, cascading down like a waterfall. Her exquisite face was pale and heartbreaking, especially her expressive eyes—wet and resembling those of an abandoned kitten.

Richard's Adam's apple bobbed, his voice unconsciously hoarse. "How adorable!" he thought. "Wait."

He fetched water, bringing the cup to Tiffany's lips. "Drink it. It's warm."

Tiffany sat up, wanting to drink herself, but her throat burned. She gave up and drank. After finishing the water, she felt slightly better.

"Do you want more?" Richard asked.

"No, thanks," Tiffany shook her head.

Lying back on the bed, she realized she was in Royal Bay, wearing an extremely conservative set of pajamas. A servant must have changed her. She didn't inquire further.

Unexpectedly, Richard sat beside her and calmly said, "I changed them."

Tiffany was stunned. "What? You changed them? You changed them for me?" Then wouldn't I have been seen naked? she thought, her face flushing crimson.

Richard suppressed a laugh, saying seriously, "Yes."

Tiffany was speechless, ashamed, and angry. She grabbed a pillow and threw it at him. "You bastard! Shameless!"

He moved, the pillow only brushing his shirt. She chased after him, continuing to hit him, but her exhaustion and fever caused her vision to blur after two steps. She fell to the floor.

A pair of hands caught her firmly; the next second, she was back in bed.

"Be good and recuperate well," Richard said, bending to tuck her in. Before rising, he chuckled in her ear. "When you recover, I'll let you do whatever you want." His magnetic, hoarse voice was utterly captivating.

Tiffany's ears tingled; she shrank back into the blanket, unable to withstand the dizziness. She closed her eyes and soon fell asleep.

When she woke again, the sky was bright. She lifted the blanket and got up. A servant knocked, delivering clothes.

"Come in." The servant wheeled in a clothes rack, smiling. "Mrs. Hampton, which one would you like to wear?"

Tiffany saw several dresses of different styles and brands—all limited editions yet to be released. "There's no need to make such a fuss," she said. "Just give me something to change into."

The servant, Allison, asked, "Mrs. Hampton, you don't like any of them? I'll have some more sent over."

"Don't," Tiffany said, choosing a blue dress. Then, she softly asked, "Allison, who changed my pajamas yesterday?"

Allison smiled. "It was me, Mrs. Hampton."

"Oh, thank you. I'll do the rest myself. Go ahead." After the servant left, Tiffany sighed in relief, touching her burning face. Stupid man. To think I actually believed him last night!

Meanwhile, Allison reported to Richard. "Mr. Hampton, Mrs. Hampton asked who changed her clothes, and I told her the truth."

Richard nodded, a faint smile on his handsome face. He knew she'd check, and he'd only been teasing her. If he had personally changed her clothes he wouldn't have been able to control himself.

At eight o'clock, Wayne, still in yesterday's waiter's uniform, took a taxi to Cedar Ridge Villa. He clutched his phone, extremely nervous, protecting the video within.

After paying, he stood at the entrance, unsure if Charlie was home. He pressed the doorbell.

A servant emerged and approached the gate. "Who are you? Who are you looking for?"

Wayne started to speak, but a car approached. The servant opened the gate. Melody stepped out of the car.
