Chapter 387
Tiffany's face was filled with resentment, her eyes with anger. Even her red lips were flushed, looking even more charming. Richard's eyes were deep as he smiled slightly. He reached out to tuck her messy hair behind her ear, smiling and saying, "Since you like it so much, shall we fly again?"
Tiffany was speechless, wondering, "If we fly again, he'll do what he just did, right?" She couldn't help but step on his shoe in protest.
Richard only smiled. He wasn't angry; his tone remained low and pleasant. "Be nice." Seeing this, the servants nearby dared not look directly at them. They lowered their heads, pretending not to hear. They were shocked. Who would have thought that Mr. Hampton, who usually avoided women, had such a gentle side? The adoration in his eyes was almost impossible to hide. Richard, once aloof and tough, had finally become gentle. For the servants at Royal Bay, Richard's impending marriage was great news.
About twenty minutes later, another hot air balloon slowly landed on the back mountain of Royal Bay. Eric ran down, excitement and happiness on his face. He ran to the villa, shouting, "Tiffany! Tiffany! I'm coming!"
Tiffany, who had just sat down, didn't know how to react. Eric always did this; she heard him before he arrived. He ran toward her, happily recounting his journey. "Tiffany! I just realized that from up high, the mountain below looked so small, but so beautiful! And that river is endless. It winds past Lovell City, and it's so long I couldn't see the end. The scenery was truly beautiful!"
"Is that so?" Tiffany wiped his sweat and pulled Eric onto the sofa. She handed him the fruit juice. "Drink this to calm down. Look how excited you are; you're sweating a lot."
"Thank you, Tiffany." Eric happily drank the orange juice.
Seeing it was getting late, Tiffany planned to leave. "We have to go back." She had removed the bloodbite for Thalia early that morning and still didn't know how she was doing. After a leisurely day out, Tiffany didn't dare delay any longer.
Hearing this, Richard nodded. "Yes, it's time to go home. Prepare the car." He stood up.
Tiffany blinked. "What are you doing?"
Richard said, "I'm going to see your parents." He continued, "Although I proposed before meeting them, Thalia liked me as a son-in-law to begin with, so she probably won't object much."
Looking at Tiffany's surprised expression, Richard leaned close to her ear and said leisurely, "Thalia still doesn't know about this. I 'kidnapped' her daughter. Shouldn't I apologize?"
Richard's husky voice was clear and pleasant. His breath on her ear made her ears itch. Tiffany had to admit he was reasonable, meticulous, and thoughtful. She nodded. "Alright, let's go together."
Returning to Cedar Ridge Villa, a servant, hearing the car, waited outside. Seeing Richard, she quickly said, "Mr. Hampton, you're here with your madam. Please come in."
Tiffany blushed at the servant's address. Inside, Thalia sat in the living room. Though her face was still pale and weak, her mental state was good, and her eyes clear. Unsure if Thalia recognized them, Tiffany and Eric exchanged glances before approaching. Thalia raised her head, her gaze gentle and filled with pity. "Eric, Tiffany…"
Being able to call their names meant she was back to normal. Eric immediately pounced over, complaining, "Mom, you've been so fierce these past few days. You ignored me and my sister, even said we weren't your children…"
"I'm sorry." Thalia blamed herself. She vaguely remembered the past few days, her fierceness and aloofness, but her memory was hazy, like a dream, fading upon waking. She said, "It's my fault. This will never happen again, I promise!"
Thalia patted Eric's back. Then, she looked at Tiffany with red eyes. "Girl, I let you suffer…"
"You didn't." Tiffany shook her head with a faint smile. Seeing Thalia was back to normal, she could finally relax. As for Thalia's schizophrenia, Tiffany knew she would improve with professional help. No matter what, Thalia would be better than she was under the influence of the harmful bloodbite.
Thalia sighed softly. Turning and seeing Richard's tall, noble figure, she smiled and stood to greet him. "Richard? Come and have a seat. Lucy, make some coffee for him now." Her soon-to-be son-in-law had arrived; Thalia couldn't neglect him.
Lucy beamed and immediately left to prepare the coffee. Richard sat calmly, a faint smile on his handsome face. "Hey, Thalia." He was born to be at the top, aloof by nature, with a powerful aura. Even trying to be low-key, his superior presence couldn't be ignored. However, it could also be seen that Richard was trying his best to restrain his hostility and face the Kelleys calmly and reservedly. It had always been others trying to please him. He didn't need to show the Kelleys respect. Ultimately, it was all because of his love for Tiffany.
Tiffany noticed this and, though silent, felt touched. Richard's actions were entirely different from Kenneth's. In the past, Kenneth's rare visits were always filled with airs and the temper of a spoiled rich man. His attitude toward Tiffany was poor, and his attitude toward Charlie and Thalia was purely business courtesy. Now, Tiffany realized a man's love was shown in the details. Evidently, the Kelleys had also noticed.
Thalia smiled wholeheartedly. Charlie felt better but still snorted softly. "Our girl has grown up now. She just lets him take her away. Humph…" His voice was low, only Thalia beside him hearing. She immediately pinched him. "Shut up!" He could only say, "Fine." His status in the family was clear.
Coffee was served. Thalia asked the servants to tidy the guest room. She smiled. "It's getting late. Richard, why don't you stay overnight?"
Tiffany blinked, thinking, 'It's getting late? It's only half-past seven! The sky just turned dark. How could it be late?'
Thalia's words were exactly what Richard wanted, so he nodded politely and reservedly. "Okay." He couldn't miss such an opportunity. Thalia smiled happily. Though her health prevented her from going to the hotel that day, she learned everything from Charlie. She regretted missing the stunning scene but was extremely satisfied with Tiffany's choice. She was glad Tiffany could be happy—that's all she wanted. As for Melody, Thalia sighed softly. She didn't want to talk about her, much less think about her.
Soon, dinner was served. Everyone went to the dining room. After eating, Richard initiated a discussion about the engagement.
