Chapter 399: Tiffany
Tiffany hadn't seen Jeremy for years, and their reunion was understandably nerve-wracking. Their separation had left her curious, a curiosity she hadn't anticipated would be so intensely tested.
She was surprised to discover a playful side beneath Jeremy's calm exterior. Just as she was about to undress him, he stopped her, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. "To leave you with some memories," he said, "it's better not to show you everything."
Tiffany was stunned. "I'm getting curious, and you're telling me this?" she exclaimed.
She'd learned some shocking truths. Jeremy, always honest in the past, was now teasing her relentlessly. After six months at Luna Villa, she couldn't believe he was toying with her, and she wondered where he'd learned such behavior.
Tiffany glared at him resentfully, but Jeremy only laughed, his eyes sparkling. His delicate, handsome features—red lips, white teeth—held an indescribable charm, not stemming from his appearance alone, but from his personality. Even if he acted like a jerk, his radiance shone through.
Tiffany sighed inwardly. She feared he was even more handsome than she remembered, a thought that sent a burning curiosity through her. She leaped from the bed, unable to resist the urge to undress him. He was leaving, and she might never see him again; she might as well satisfy her curiosity.
She launched herself at him, but Jeremy, anticipating her move, smiled and positioned himself where she landed. Before she could react, she fell into his fragrant embrace. His hug, however, lacked romantic warmth; it felt like a farewell, lasting only seconds—a fleeting gust of wind. Tiffany was stunned, and when she recovered, he was gone.
The white curtains fluttered in the breeze from the open window. As the wind brushed past her, she heard him say, "My gift is on the table. If you're in danger, crush it. No matter where I am, I'll be there in fifteen minutes." On the table lay an aqua-blue diamond pendant with a golden mark in the center—a pendant unlike any she'd ever seen. It felt strangely familiar and warm, yet she couldn't place the feeling. "Am I imagining things?" she wondered.
She shook her head. Regardless, the pendant was clearly precious. His impossible promise fueled her curiosity: "What is he hiding?" she mused, eventually putting the question aside.
She found a necklace in her jewelry box, discarded the original pendant, and replaced it with the aqua-blue one. "'No matter where he is, he'll be at my side in fifteen minutes, right?'" she thought, raising an eyebrow. But a flicker of doubt surfaced: "'But what if he isn't?'" She smiled, trying to ignore her disappointment.

James, his whereabouts unknown, had vanished. Then, Jeremy appeared. At Luna Villa, only Tiffany and June remained.
Coincidentally, June called. "Miss, Jeremy left. He didn't say why. He just said he was leaving and might not come back, then disappeared."
"I know," Tiffany replied softly. "He came to say goodbye."
"Seriously? He left without telling you why? Everyone at Luna Villa treated him so well, almost like family. He's so heartless!"
"June, don't look at it that way," Tiffany comforted her. "I said I needed him, but I have no right to keep him here for the rest of his life."
Jeremy had a mission in Lovell City, a mission that prevented him from revealing his true identity. Having been together for so long, Tiffany understood his departure. June, while understanding, felt reluctant; their recent adventure infiltrating the Harper family manor had forged a bond.
June sighed, sensing Tiffany's deeper disappointment, and offered comfort. "Don't worry, Miss. No matter who leaves, I'll always be with you."
Tiffany smiled bitterly. "How long will you stay with me?"
"For life." June's eyes, unseen by Tiffany, held unwavering resolve. She would dedicate her life to Tiffany's protection.
Tiffany was touched by June's promise but concerned. "June, you're not young anymore. How can I let you sacrifice your life for me? You should consider your own future."
June smiled, accepting her fate.
Tiffany, after some reflection, made a decision. "June, could you help me investigate something?"
Ten minutes later, a document arrived on Tiffany's phone. It contained information on the Azure Sea Royal Family, but mostly common knowledge: decades ago, a four-year-old princess, heir to the throne, was abducted by a servant, along with a treasure—a box said to reveal one's life. The details of the resolution remain unknown, only that the once-wealthy Azure Sea Royal Family retreated into seclusion.
Further investigation revealed details of the family's Saintess, a woman of high status, essentially a princess in all but title. Recent reports indicated her imminent arrival in Lovell City, for a marriage alliance with the Hampton family, as Wendy had mentioned.
Tiffany finished reading, feeling a surge of disbelief. "'Why didn't I hear about this sooner? Or did someone want to keep me in the dark?'" she wondered.
