Chapter 457

This life was different from her past life, and Kenneth was not the same man he had been. Unbeknownst to her, her fate had changed. This life was unlike any she had known before. For the first time, she could let go of the past and see Kenneth without the burden of hatred.

Tiffany knew the trip to the Azure Sea Royal Palace had been perilous. Without Kenneth, returning safely to Lovell City would have been impossible. He had saved her.

"Guess we're even now," she thought.

Tiffany blinked and sighed. "Kenneth, even though I find you annoying and a bit of a jerk sometimes, I have to admit, you were loyal this time. It's one of the few things you've done right."

"One of the few things? Thanks?" Kenneth was both irritated and amused. However, when he looked into Tiffany's bright eyes, he understood.

Her playful banter meant she had let go of her past resentments.

Kenneth smiled, his handsome features softening. "You should really take care of that face. You'll end up with a scar," he said.

"It's fine," Tiffany shrugged. Her self-healing ability was strong. Although the wound was deep and painful, she knew it would heal quickly.

"Bye now," Tiffany said, turning and walking down the path toward Luna Villa.

Kenneth returned to the helicopter. It lifted off with a low hum, disappearing into the distance.

The helicopter's sound was loud enough to alarm the servants at Luna Villa. They quickly switched on the lights and rushed out, fearing an intruder. Upon seeing Tiffany, they exclaimed, "Miss, you're back!" "Yeah," Tiffany nodded, about to ask about June when she heard June's voice.

"My lady!"

Through her blurry vision, Tiffany saw June rushing toward her, panic evident in her voice. "Miss, are you hurt?" June asked.

June noticed the deep bloodstain on Tiffany's face and anxiously examined her. Relieved to see no other serious injuries, she let out a sigh of relief.

That day in the valley, after the ambush and helicopter crash, everyone had jumped to survive. Fortunately, the fall wasn't too high, and a stream cushioned their landing. They all landed in the stream, and aside from minor cuts and bruises, everyone was unharmed. However, the current swept them away, separating them.

June and the others ended up upstream, while Tiffany was carried downstream.

Worried that Tiffany couldn't swim, June searched the stream for hours. She only found Galaxy—the bow and arrow—but no sign of Tiffany.

They had planned to spend the night in the valley, but an unfamiliar man informed them that Tiffany had been taken by locals. He assured them of her safety.

With no other choice, June reluctantly returned to Lovell City. She never expected Tiffany to return so soon.

"I honestly thought those people were making things up. I didn't expect you to be fine. I'm so glad you're okay," June said, radiating happiness. "So, who did you end up with? And what happened to your face, Miss?"

"I'm fine," Tiffany replied dismissively. But her next question was sharper. "Nothing significant happened in Lovell City in the last couple of days, right? And what about Royal Bay?" "Nothing from Royal Bay—everything's blocked off. I've asked around but found nothing about Mr. Hampton," June answered.

Tiffany nodded. That was expected.

"But," June continued, "because of the engagement party debacle, Kelley Group's stock plummeted. And people are roasting you online."

The criticism was subtle, but everyone probably wanted to punch her.

Tiffany raised an eyebrow. This wasn't a surprise either. Let them curse her, let them hate her; she didn't care.

She gripped the box tighter and headed toward the Medicinal Haven in the basement.

June followed, seeming hesitant to speak. After a moment, she said, "Uh, I just received word. Something big just happened in Lovell City." "Spill it," Tiffany replied, continuing to walk.

"It's the Harper family… they're in trouble."

Tiffany stopped, frowning. "Wait, what? The Harper family? What could happen to them?"

"Apparently, about three hours ago, a group of people broke into their home. Mr. Ryan Harper was stabbed nine times and died instantly. His wife is fine, but injured."

Tiffany's eyes widened as June hesitated. "And, uh, there were other casualties. Some of the servants. But the worst part, Mr. Romeo Harper is in the ER, and hasn't been released. And Miss Alexia Harper… her mouth was sewn shut." Tiffany staggered back, her mind racing. Three hours ago, she and Kenneth had been dealing with those killers and returning to the helicopter.

She hadn't anticipated this chaos at the Harper family home.

Kenneth would be devastated upon his arrival, especially since he was at the Azure Sea Royal Palace because of her.

Tiffany's expression changed as she quickly ran into the Medicinal Haven, grabbed several glass bottles, and handed the box containing the Eternal Herb to June. "Keep this safe," she said seriously.

Without hesitation, she rushed out. "Get the car ready, now!"

The servant acted swiftly. The car sped toward the Harper family manor.

June stood frozen, processing Tiffany's reaction. She hadn't expected it to be so intense. A thought occurred to her. Could the person who saved Tiffany in the valley… actually be Kenneth?

At the Harper family manor, the helicopter landed with a slow, eerie descent. The silence was unnerving.

Kenneth, limping on his injured leg, stepped out of the helicopter and approached the courtyard, each step heavy with tension.

Something felt wrong. Normally, servants and bodyguards would be everywhere. Yet, aside from the lights, there was silence.

What's going on here? This is far too strange, Kenneth thought, quickening his pace. He went first to Romeo's room. It was a disaster. The area near the fig tree had been dug up, and blood stained the ground.

The overhead light was shattered, and strange, jagged footprints marred the once pristine floor. It was clear that someone had broken in—and it wasn't just one person.

Kenneth's heart pounded. He gestured to his subordinates, his voice shaky. "Check the other areas!"

His team scattered, soon carrying out bodies—three servants, then Ryan, covered in blood.

"Dad?" Kenneth froze, his stomach plummeting. Seeing his father's lifeless face was a gut punch. He was momentarily stunned.
