Chapter 513

Tiffany was confused. "What stone? What backlash? What are you talking about?"

Sidney, performing acupuncture, couldn't answer immediately. Garry said, "This is all about you, Tiffany…"

"Me?" Tiffany's confusion deepened.

"Yes," Garry nodded. He saw no reason to hide anything further. He explained that James had tried to steal meteorite ore from Tech Building No. 9 two days prior. James coveted the stone because it could alter a person's magnetic field, allowing him to transfer Tiffany's death omen to someone else—himself, in this case. Richard, however, had prevented him.

Garry recounted the terrifying scene, saying, "I've never seen anything like it. Unbelievable…"

Tiffany thought, 'No wonder so many people wanted this stone.' But, she realized, not everyone could control its power.

Confused, Tiffany asked, "Why… have I never heard of this?"

She reflected, 'No wonder James was lurking. No wonder June's words sometimes seemed to hint at something more. They knew, but they didn't tell me…'

'What about everything I saw in the Treasure Box? I thought I'd avoided disaster in Traron City. I even felt smug about not implicating Richard…' The thought paled her face. 'Was everything I did useless?'

From the start, several people had been protecting her. Richard, not her, had saved her; that's why the Treasure Box indicated an unnatural death.

Tiffany bolted. She knew another way to save Richard.

"Hey, Tiffany, where are you going?" Garry called out as she rushed past. He didn't know her plan, but asked John to follow, adding, "Tiffany can't drive. Go quickly!"

John nodded and left.

"Luna Villa, now!" Tiffany commanded upon entering the car, fastening her seatbelt. The black luxury car sped off.

They completed the twenty-minute journey in ten.

"Wait here," Tiffany said before rushing into Luna Villa and up the stairs, ignoring the surprised servants.

Entering the room, she found the Treasure Box still there.

Tiffany sighed in relief. Before arriving, she'd worried about its theft, since she hadn't hidden it meticulously.

She raced downstairs with the Treasure Box, got in the car, and shouted, "Let's go! Back to Royal Bay!"

En route, John, surprised, asked, "What's inside?"

"The Treasure Box," Tiffany replied openly, lifting the lid for him to see.

This glimpse shocked John so much that he slammed on the brakes. The sudden stop sent them both forward; thankfully, their seatbelts prevented head injuries.

"What's wrong?" Tiffany asked, bewildered.

John's surprise was understandable. He knew the Treasure Box's power and its value to various factions. Royal Bay had extensively searched for it. Its presence in Tiffany's possession, casually displayed, was astounding.

He'd previously misunderstood her, suspecting foul play—even murder—after seeing the slash wound. But if she intended harm, why would she so openly display such a valuable artifact?

After apologizing sincerely ("Tiffany, I'm sorry. I was rash, only seeing the surface…"), John restarted the car.

Tiffany, anxious, waved dismissively. "Let's not talk now. I don't blame you. Drive!"

John accelerated.

Reaching Royal Bay, Tiffany rushed to the second-floor bedroom. "How is he? What's his condition?"

Sidney remained silent. It was a death omen; further explanation was unnecessary.

Tiffany understood. She dismissed everyone. "I have a plan. Out! No one enters without my permission."

Sidney, concerned about her limited expertise beyond detoxification and acupuncture, protested. "I'll stay. I can act quickly if anything happens."

"All of you, out," Tiffany insisted calmly but firmly.

Garry, the first to comply, said, "I trust Tiffany."

Sidney reluctantly left with him. Tiffany locked the door, closed the curtains, and in the darkened room, the Treasure Box glowed with a mysterious blue light. Its intricate, ancient patterns radiated an indescribable power.

Tiffany reached out. The Treasure Box reacted instantly to its master's touch.

"I want him safe, healthy, immune to all poisons," she whispered. The Treasure Box seemed capable of anything. Richard's recovery should be within its capabilities.

The blue light intensified. An ethereal message entered her mind.

The Treasure Box revealed that the calamity it represented was unavoidable, part of her destiny. Whether she went to Traron City or not, the fire, the explosion—all were fated. Like her previous life, she would have died in the swamp. Now, Richard had taken her place. Fate was immutable. The Treasure Box was powerless to change it.

Tiffany's eyes reddened. She slammed her fist on the table. "Don't tell me you can't, or I'll destroy you!"

The message paused, seemingly considering her threat. Tiffany sneered.

The Treasure Box trembled. "My lord's inheritance… hasn't been awakened…"

"Speak plainly," Tiffany snapped.

"Master, you haven't recovered your lost memories or bloodline. Once you do, this is trivial. You can handle it yourself."

"Okay," Tiffany gritted her teeth, accepting.

Her vision blacked out. When she opened her eyes, she was in a familiar yet unfamiliar place: the Azure Sea Royal Family.
