Chapter 606

Ged was utterly confused by Tiffany's words. He stared at her, puzzled. Each word made sense individually, yet together they were baffling. "What bracelet? When did I gift her a bracelet? What reindeer-masked girl?" He had no memory of meeting anyone like that. He was even confused by her claim that he'd suffered because of her.

Ged frowned, ready to argue, but a sudden, sharp pain shot through his chest. It was excruciating, like fragments of something flashing too quickly to grasp. The sensation left him even more bewildered.

Just then, Tiffany's time ran out. She slowly closed her eyes, overcome by dizziness. In the final second before leaving that timeline, she heard Ged say, "I don't regret it." He'd never regretted it.

Tiffany's heart jolted. She snapped her eyes open, but she was back in the Moody family villa. Feeling dazed, she was reassured by the Treasure Box: "Don't worry. Everything in that lifetime has changed. In that timeline, Ged will no longer face his fatal misfortune. He and Jade will be fine. Their relationship will flourish, and they'll live a smooth, happy life together." The phrase lifted a weight from Tiffany's shoulders. She had done all she could. In that other timeline, Jade and Ged, who had met tragic ends in this world, would live peacefully and joyfully.

Tiffany sniffled, trying to hide her tears. On the sofa, the Moody couple wept openly. They had witnessed everything through the projection and, despite its inexplicable nature, chose to believe what they saw. It was a comfort to their grieving hearts.

Coming to their senses, the Moodys held Tiffany's hands. "Tiffany, thank you thank you so much," Candice sobbed.

"This is simply what I should do," Tiffany replied. On the night of Ged's accident, she had been fleeing for her life and couldn't reach him in time. Her actions were a way to ease her guilt and bring peace to Ged's parents.

"Thank you, Tiffany," Candice choked out, gripping Tiffany's hand. "You've given us a reason to keep going." Before this, they had been lost, their life's work—providing for their son—feeling meaningless. Now, they knew he lived, somewhere in another timeline.

Outside the Moody family villa, Richard sat in his car, one leg crossed over the other, his fingers tapping rhythmically. He showed no impatience.

After a while, as a faint, ethereal blue light emanated from the villa, Richard raised his hand, making a small sweeping motion. A gust of wind instantly dispersed the glow. He knew what Tiffany was doing, but the Treasure Box was an anomaly, too rare and precious. Left unchecked, the commotion would attract opportunists.

The blue light was suppressed. Tiffany was transported to another timeline, unaware. Within the Treasure Box, its consciousness trembled under the force, murmuring, "Master."

Richard raised an eyebrow, amused. "Master?" What a perceptive little thing. The term made him feel like he'd gained a child—a child belonging to him and Tiffany. He didn't mind the idea.

Leaning back, Richard maintained his imposing aura. Moments later, Tiffany emerged from the villa. Under the moonlight, she seemed frail. Richard got out, draping his jacket over her shoulders.

"All settled?" he asked.

"Yes," Tiffany replied, exhaling wearily. This burden had weighed on her heart since Ged's accident. The Treasure Box's abilities were limited; this was a considerable feat.

With this matter resolved, she decided to visit Jade's home. Richard helped her into the car. The Treasure Box activated again, projecting Jade's smiling face, instantly reducing the Payne couple to tears. Their poor judgment had cost them dearly.

Half an hour later, as Tiffany prepared to leave, Jade's mother grabbed her arm. The usually frail woman's eyes burned with anguish and fury.

"Miss Kelley, I beg you," she pleaded. "Make sure the murderer pays the price! I refuse to settle. I only want her dead! I want her life for my daughter's life! She deserves to die!"

Tiffany nodded solemnly. "She will," she promised firmly. She wouldn't let Melody escape unscathed.

Back in the car, Tiffany leaned into Richard's arms, her voice soft, her body trembling slightly. "Seeing Jade's mother like that… it makes me so sad," she murmured. For most, this was a momentary tragedy; for those directly affected, it was a wound that would never heal.

Richard stroked her back. "I've already set everything in motion. Trust me, there will be results soon."

Tiffany nodded resolutely. With Richard's involvement, Melody's crimes were settled quickly. Her defenses crumbled, even her claim of insanity. Her signed confession rendered her plea void. Melody stubbornly denied it, claiming Wilma had taken over her body. Despite her denials and Wilma's distinctive handwriting, Melody couldn't refute her guilt.
