Listen to this chapter:

Sandra’s voice was hoarse, and she sounded as if she were crying. It was heartbreaking. Kenneth's eyes were bloodshot. He rushed in, kicked the man away, and quickly removed his coat to cover Sandra.

“It’s okay, it’s okay,” he said.

“Kenneth, I feel terrible,” Sandra cried, her face abnormally red. Her eyes flickered with confusion and mist. She clung to his neck, muttering, “Help me, help me, Kenneth…” Kenneth felt a pang of heartache.

Before Kenneth arrived, Sandra had struggled and resisted, refusing to obey the man. Only after Kenneth's arrival did she lose her composure.

Kenneth carried Sandra horizontally to the bathroom and placed her in the bathtub. After soaking in the cold water, she shivered, but the drug's effects gradually faded.

“Give me a minute,” Kenneth said, gently patting her head. He then left the bathroom, his handsome face contorted with anger.

“Tiffany!” he roared, the name practically spat from between his teeth.

Tiffany stood in the guest room, surrounded by the men Kenneth had brought. They blocked the entrance, clearly intending to prevent her departure without an explanation. Her smile didn't falter. She casually brushed a strand of hair from her ear and replied, “Yes, Daddy. I’m here.”

Kenneth’s face went ashen. He hadn't expected her continued lack of remorse.

“You drugged Sandra and tried to ruin her! I thought you were spoiled, arrogant, and bossy, but I never imagined you to be so vicious!”

Since Tiffany had proposed breaking off their engagement, Kenneth’s impression of her had changed considerably. However, this incident erased any positive feelings instantly.

“I will never marry a vicious woman like you!” he exclaimed.

Tiffany remained indolently where she stood, offering no defense. “Are you done? Can I go now?”

Kenneth was stunned, his fury escalating. “Don’t you want to explain? At the very least, you should apologize to Sandra!”

“Explain? Never!” Tiffany scoffed. “Kenneth has already decided to blame me, so why bother? And apologizing to Sandra? She’s hardly as innocent as she seems. Do you really think she deserves my apology?”

Veins bulged on Kenneth’s arm as he struggled to control his rage. At that moment, the bathroom door opened. Sandra, drenched, offered him a weak smile. “Kenneth, don’t be like this. I believe Tiffany didn’t do it on purpose…”

This statement only served to highlight Tiffany’s apparent guilt. Kenneth’s heart ached. “This isn’t a small matter!”

“It’s alright. I’m fine. Thankfully, it wasn’t worse…” Sandra forced a smile, gentle and fragile, like a flower battered by a storm. Her magnanimity made Tiffany seem even more villainous.

“No, I can’t let this go!” Kenneth shouted. Glaring at Tiffany, he said in a low voice, “You must apologize to Sandra!” He then looked at his bodyguards.

Tiffany was trapped; all exits were blocked. Kenneth’s threat was clear: no apology, no departure.

Sandra watched, a smug smile playing on her lips. She hadn't expected the waiter she'd bribed to act so swiftly, summoning Kenneth in time to prevent further harm when she was drugged. The waiter then cleverly framed Tiffany. Kenneth, once enamored, was now utterly disgusted.

Adding fuel to the fire, Sandra said, “Kenneth, let’s forget about it. Don’t make things difficult for Tiffany…”

Kenneth sneered. “If she doesn’t apologize, my men will make her!” He gestured to the bodyguards to restrain Tiffany.

“Get out of here!” Tiffany shouted, but the confined space and her attire hampered her ability to fight the martial arts experts. After a couple of attempts, she was subdued.

Her face was impassive, but her eyes burned with intense hatred. “Kenneth, I dare you to try. In both my past and present lives, you owe me a debt you can never repay. If you make me kneel… I swear one day I will make the entire Harper family kneel to atone for their sins!”

Kenneth was momentarily stunned by the hatred in her eyes. He wondered what he'd done to incur such animosity. But Sandra was clearly the victim; an apology was only right, he decided.

Sandra, noticing his silence, sobbed softly, her anguish palpable. Kenneth snapped back to reality. “Kneel down!”

The bodyguard moved to force Tiffany to her knees, but she resisted. During the struggle, the bodyguard kicked her knee. Tiffany cried out in pain and fell, only to be caught by a pair of hands.

She looked up into the stern face of Richard, who had come to her rescue once more. He carried her away. His fierce gaze swept the room, silencing everyone with its intensity. He kicked the bodyguard who'd injured Tiffany, breaking several of his bones.

“Who else hurt her?” Richard asked coldly. Four bodyguards stepped forward, anticipating punishment. After a brief, brutal fight, Richard dismissed them.

Turning to Kenneth, he laughed. “Remarkable, aren't you?”
