Chapter 634
“Tiffany, wait for me!” Daisy shouted, chasing after her. Wearing high heels, Daisy lost her balance and fell forward, landing near Richard.
Overjoyed, Daisy had feared missing a chance to interact with Richard. She hadn't expected such luck! However, as she lunged forward, Richard, with his back to her, caught Tiffany's waist and stepped aside. Daisy missed and fell to the ground, her beautiful gown soiled, and she grimaced in pain.
Tiffany suppressed a laugh, saying only, “What are you doing? How embarrassing!”
“You…” Daisy fumed. Her plan had been foiled by Richard's agility. It was as if he had eyes in the back of his head. Otherwise, why such a clumsy fall?
Aggrieved, Daisy crawled up, tears welling. “Tiffany, have I offended you? Why are you so arrogant? Aren’t we family…”
“Family?” Tiffany gave a wry smile. In her past life, the Kelley family had considered them family, supporting their business. But when the Kelleys faced trouble, the Ruiz family couldn't even provide medical expenses. Was that family? They had exploited the Kelleys and, now thriving, showed no gratitude.
With contempt in her eyes, Tiffany said slowly, “No way.” She turned and left.
Daisy was stunned. She hadn't expected Tiffany's hostility. Enraged, she confronted Tiffany, sneering at Richard, “Mr. Hampton, do you know what kind of person Tiffany is? Don’t be deceived by her appearance!”
“What kind of person?” Richard's handsome face was cold, a hint of hostility in his eyes. He was clearly impatient with Daisy's harassment.
Daisy panicked under his gaze. Cold sweat broke out, but remembering her accusations against Tiffany, she pressed on.
"Tiffany has always had a bad character. As a teenager, she fought, frequented bars, and had numerous intimate relationships with men! Mr. Hampton, you have a noble status. I… I can't bear to see you deceived! Tiffany is unworthy of you!”
Daisy looked at Tiffany with a smug expression, believing she had successfully vented her anger.
“Are you done?” Richard’s voice was icy, his gaze frigid.
“Mr. Hampton, I’m telling the truth!” Daisy insisted, fearing Richard's disbelief. “I swear!”
Others might have believed her confident assertion, but Richard merely gave an ambiguous laugh, looking at Tiffany with deep, loving eyes.
“Who says Tiffany is unworthy of me?” he stated clearly and firmly. “There are billions of people in the world. I’m lucky to be favored by her. It’s a huge good fortune.”
His voice was warm and heartfelt. Tiffany’s eyes widened in surprise; she appreciated Daisy's unwitting contribution to another confession. She smiled, raising her chin slightly. “Let’s go home.”
“Okay.” Richard kissed Tiffany's cheek, then held her waist and strode away.
Daisy, completely ignored, was dumbfounded. She had intended to make Richard hate Tiffany by revealing her past, believing he would object to his lover's past indiscretions. But Richard's words—that he was lucky to be chosen by Tiffany—were shocking.
Regardless of Tiffany's past, Richard valued her current affection, viewing it as incredible good fortune.
How disgusting! Daisy raged, consumed by jealousy and envy. How wonderful if that were me!
Molly's voice broke through Daisy's thoughts. “What are you doing here? Dad is looking for you.”
“Why?” Daisy snapped. “Which idiot does he want me to marry?”
“Don’t talk about Dad like that! It’s for your own good.” Molly approached, noticing Daisy's distress. Seeing Daisy's gaze, Molly was stunned by the departing couple. “You were talking to Tiffany?”
“None of your business!” Daisy retorted.
Molly, sensing Daisy's defeat, said, “Forget it. You can’t win Mr. Hampton’s love.”
“I can’t, but that little bitch Tiffany can?” Daisy exploded. “She said she’s not related to our Ruiz family after becoming Mr. Hampton's wife!”
“Really?” Molly was skeptical. The Kelleys and Ruizes were long-standing relatives, and Tiffany had always treated them well. Only last year had she grown distant. Regardless, Daisy had initiated the seduction attempt; Tiffany's words were likely a reaction.
Molly grabbed Daisy’s hand. “Let’s go. Stay home. If you have such thoughts again, I’ll tell Dad.”
Daisy shouted, “Let me go! What right do you have to control me?” In a fit of rage, she bit Molly's wrist.
