Chapter 652
They went to a hot spring behind the mountain. Under a canopy of flowers, Richard and Tiffany played in the water. It was refreshing, but her waist ached from all the playing. Tiffany laughed continuously. They spent most of their time in the hot spring and returned to the villa hours later to sleep. However, just as Tiffany closed her eyes, she heard women shouting downstairs.
Tiffany was a light sleeper. After waking up, she couldn't fall back asleep. She sat up, but Richard gently hugged her. The corners of Tiffany’s mouth curled up. "Stay here and rest. I'll go take a look."
"Okay," Richard replied, his eyes filled with joy. Tiffany seldom felt sorry for him, as he usually did most of the hard work.
Tiffany changed her clothes and went downstairs. When the servant saw her, she nodded and approached. "Pardon me, Ma'am. Did I wake you?"
"What happened?" Tiffany asked.
"The guard said two people are looking for you. They insist on shouting unless you let them in. But don't worry, Ma'am. I'll ask the guard to send them away if they cause trouble."
As the servant spoke, she was about to call the guard, but Tiffany laughed and stopped her. "I'll go take a look. Maybe it's someone I know."
Of course, it was someone she knew. From afar, Tiffany heard the familiar shouts. It could only be Jeffrey and Daisy.
Tiffany calmly walked out of the villa. Jeffrey and Daisy stood before the heavy iron gate, with many beautifully wrapped gifts in their car.
Royal Bay never allowed outsiders to enter casually. Therefore, Jeffrey and Daisy couldn't enter, but they were unwilling to leave and kept shouting at the door, despite the guard's attempts to send them away. "Tiffany, Tiffany! We're here for you!"
Seeing Tiffany, Jeffrey's eyes lit up. He waved his hand excitedly. Daisy, though reluctant, forced a smile. "Tiffany, I'm here to apologize. Yesterday was my fault. Please forgive me."
Tiffany walked over slowly. Daisy noticed Tiffany's unconcerned attitude.
Daisy was angry, but remembering her father's plans for her future, she hid her dissatisfaction. "Tiffany, we're at the door. Aren't you going to invite us in?"
If Tiffany refused, it would confirm her indifference. Daisy knew that once she gained power, she would retaliate.
Tiffany laughed and glanced at the servant, who immediately opened the gate.
Jeffrey and Daisy exchanged excited, greedy glances. They were about to enter when several guards blocked their way.
Jeffrey looked at Tiffany in confusion. "What is this?"
Tiffany said bluntly, "There's no need for this. Please leave." Her men returned the gifts.
"Take care. I won't see you out." Tiffany, tired of pretending, turned and left. She'd only met them to show her attitude and make them give up their plans. She wasn't a soft-hearted woman to be exploited, nor someone they could rely on.
"They want to use me to climb the social ladder? In their dreams!" Tiffany chuckled inwardly.
The heavy iron gate closed. Jeffrey and Daisy stared in anger. "Tiffany, stop! We're your family! Is this how you treat family?"
Tiffany didn't look back. Rejected, Jeffrey angrily kicked his car, denting it.
Daisy added, "Dad, did you see how arrogant she is? We need to humble her."
Jeffrey's face was stiff. He stared at Royal Bay, a vast, majestic, luxurious villa that symbolized immense power. Who wouldn't want such privilege?
Disappointed, Jeffrey got into his car. Daisy asked, "Dad, what should we do next?"
Their plan was to apologize to Tiffany, enter her estate, get close to Richard, and secure his cooperation for their business. Tiffany had thwarted their plans completely. Jeffrey said coldly, "Go to Thalia's house!"
The driver drove towards the Kelley family estate. As long as Thalia was around, he and the Kelley family would remain connected.
Thalia was happy to see her brother. She had the servants invite them in, but her expression changed upon seeing Daisy.
"Hi, Auntie! This is a supplement for you. I heard you often have headaches," Daisy said warmly, taking Thalia's hand.
Her flattery was ineffective. "Tiffany found a cure for my chronic headaches. I feel much better since taking her medicine," Thalia replied proudly.
Daisy could only nod sheepishly.
Thalia offered coffee, fruit, and desserts, then asked, "Jeffrey, why are you here?"
"To see you, and to ask your husband about the Lovell City coal mine project."
Thalia frowned. "Well"
Though unfamiliar with business, Thalia knew Charlie wanted the project. Many companies were vying for it. Reluctant to refuse her brother directly, she said, "Jeffrey, many people want this project. Charlie might not get it."
