Chapter 657

Tiffany laughed meaningfully. She knew she couldn't persuade her mother with words alone before she came home. If it were that easy to persuade Mom, why would the Kelley family have ended up in such a miserable state in their previous life? It was better to let Mom see for herself, Tiffany thought.

Tiffany didn't retort. She smiled and changed the topic. "Alright, let's not talk about this depressing topic. Dad, I want to eat the crispy biscuits you fried."

"Okay, okay, I'll go to the kitchen to make them for you." Charlie breathed a sigh of relief and entered the kitchen with a smile.

Only Thalia and Tiffany remained in the large living room. Thalia, a little uneasy, asked softly, "Tiffany, will you blame me?"

"No," said Tiffany, shaking her head without hesitation. "There's nothing wrong with being kind. What's wrong are those with ill intentions," she thought. She didn't want to change anything about her parents, so she could play an "evil" role anytime in this life. She wasn't afraid of being despised or criticized. She didn't care as long as she could protect her family.

Thalia looked up and saw Tiffany's big eyes, a faint, sweet smile playing on her lips. Her anxious heart felt at ease. "Having Thalia as my daughter is my blessing," Thalia thought.

Eric returned from school in the evening. Upon seeing Tiffany, he threw himself into her arms, a happy twinkle in his eyes. He smiled obediently and brightly, saying, "Tiffany, I missed you so much!"

"Well, you just want me to play games with you," said Tiffany.

"Tiffany found my thoughts instantly," Eric thought, blinking. "Well, she's clever."

The family ate, drank, and laughed continuously. Soon, evening arrived.

Tiffany planned to spend the night at home, so she called Richard after dinner. Richard sighed faintly over the phone. "It looks like I'll be staying in an empty room tonight?" He sounded a little aggrieved, quite pitiful.

Tiffany quickly smoothed things over, saying gently, "Be good. I'll be back tomorrow."

"Can't you kiss me as compensation?"

"How am I supposed to kiss you?" Tiffany blinked in confusion.

Chapter 647

"Just kiss me like this," a magnetic voice entered her ears through the phone, accompanied by a kissing sound. Tiffany's ears flushed. She turned around and saw her parents and brother watching television in the living room. They sat in a row, but their ears were perked up. "I don't know if they heard us…" Tiffany thought.

Richard urged, "Yes?"

"Alright, alright. Wait for me." Tiffany covered her phone and quickly ran to the garden outside the villa. When she saw no one was around, she relaxed slightly and made kissing sounds into her phone a few times.

"Are you satisfied now?" said Tiffany.

"Yes. It's alright," answered Richard. Richard chuckled softly; his laughter was pleasant.

Tiffany blushed and said, "Alright, I won't talk to you anymore. Video call me tonight if you miss me."

"Okay."

Hearing Richard's response, Tiffany hung up. She pretended nothing had happened and acted calmly as she returned to the living room. However, her parents and brother on the sofa turned around neatly and imitated her, making loud kissing sounds.

Tiffany was speechless. "They heard me," she thought. Tiffany was so embarrassed she stomped her feet. However, Charlie and Thalia laughed out loud, and even Eric covered his mouth and secretly laughed. The atmosphere was so warm that even the servants couldn't help but laugh.

Late at night, the moon shone brightly. Under the moonlight, the villa seemed covered with a thin silver veil. The flowers in the garden swayed gently in the wind. It was quiet.

Tiffany opened the door and walked out of her bedroom, going straight to her parents' bedroom on the first floor. The door was locked, but it didn't matter. Tiffany quietly used the spare key. With a subtle click, the door opened. Charlie and Thalia were already sound asleep.

Tiffany slowly approached and placed what she had been carrying in her arms on the bedside table. After removing the cloth from its top, a dark blue light appeared. The complicated and mysterious patterns on the treasure box showed it was extraordinary. Tiffany said silently in her heart, "Enter their dreams. I want them to see what Jeffrey did to them in their previous life."

"Yes, master." The consciousness in the treasure box immediately responded. Immediately after, the blue light shone brightly. Two light spots quickly landed on Thalia and Charlie, disappearing as if they had fallen into their consciousness.

In her dream, Thalia was chased out of the Kelley Group by Stan and Selena. Before that, all the Kelley family's assets had been quietly transferred away, including most of the company's shares.

Thalia was in disbelief. She stared at the familiar faces and questioned, "How could you do this? Hasn't the Kelley family given you enough over the years?"

However, Stan and Selena responded with smug smiles. "So what? Who wants to be the pitiful person receiving charity? Isn't it better if I control everything myself?" said Stan.

"Charity?" said Thalia, suddenly laughing. The Kelley family had always treated Stan's family as their own, but they hadn't expected that, in Stan's family's eyes, all of that had been charity?

Thalia tried to argue, but they called the bodyguards and chased her out. Thalia, the once glamorous Mrs. Kelley, was now destitute. No, not entirely destitute; at least the Kelley family's villa remained.

When Thalia returned to the villa, she learned Charlie had had a stroke and was hospitalized. She rushed over but couldn't afford his medical fees. She wanted to sell the villa, but the Kelley family was already in negative assets; the villa would soon be mortgaged. Thalia could only borrow money from relatives and friends.

"Jeffrey is my brother. He will definitely not leave me in the lurch," Thalia thought. She went to Jeffrey, tactfully expressing her need to borrow money. The Kelley family had helped the Ruiz family so much; it was thanks to them that Jeffrey was where he was today. The tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses shouldn't be a problem.

However, reality gave Thalia a harsh slap. Jeffrey looked at her impatiently, casually writing a check and throwing it at her feet. He asked, "Is ten thousand dollars enough?" He spoke in a tone as if dismissing a beggar.

Thalia was stunned and quickly explained, "Jeffrey, Charlie's medical and surgery fees are at least 100 thousand dollars. These… these are not enough."

"Not enough? You are asking for the moon." The speaker was Daisy Kelley. She sneered, grabbed the check, and tore it into pieces. She said sarcastically, "It's better to give up on the treatment. The Kelley family has collapsed. What's the point of lending you money? Is it just going to be wasted?"

Thalia's hands and feet turned cold as if she had fallen into an ice cellar. One only sees the true colors of those around them when in trouble. Thalia couldn't remember how she left the Ruiz family. She received news that Charlie had died when she returned to the hospital…

"Boom." It was like a bolt from the blue.
