Chapter 684 (Continued from Chapter 681)

Tiffany was already at the Azure Sea Royal Family’s palace. Her only task was to get past Morwen and uncover the shadowy figure's identity. Once that was done, the events of the past few days would be explained. Tiffany already had a theory.

Seeing her confidence, Jeremy remained silent.

"Let's go," she said, striding toward the grand hall where Deacon resided. She spotted her grandfather seated at a distance. Approaching, she smiled brightly. "Grandpa."

The Azure Sea King, Deacon, looked up. His stern expression softened into a warm smile as he saw Tiffany. His excitement was evident.

"You little rascal," he said. "You finally remembered to visit me."

Tiffany rubbed her nose, feigning confidence. "Well, you promised to attend my wedding. You stood me up, and now you dare to blame me?"

Deacon sputtered, his expression almost pitiful. "I've been busy lately."

Anyone else present would have been astonished by the king's demeanor. Moments before Tiffany's arrival, Deacon had issued strict orders, disposing of several individuals who had taken advantage of his recent coma. His methods had been ruthless. Yet, with Tiffany, he was all gentle tones and eagerness to please. This would surely surprise the entire nation.

Ignoring the stunned servants, Tiffany went to Deacon's side. Frowning, she grabbed his wrist. "Why do you look so weak?"

When she'd last left the palace, her grandfather had been recovering well. With spirit herbs, his health shouldn't have deteriorated so drastically.

Deacon waved it off. "I'm just getting old. It's normal."

"Grandpa, tell me the truth!" Tiffany didn't believe him. His vitality was depleted, as if he were undergoing regular bloodletting. That wasn't normal.

Still smiling, Deacon said, "You little rascal, if you care about me, visit more often. A few more visits, and my health will improve."

She had no response. Reluctantly, Tiffany agreed. But the moment she left the hall, she turned to Jeremy, her expression serious. "Tell me the truth."

Jeremy blinked. "The truth." He turned away.

Tiffany was speechless. That was painfully dry humor.

(Time skip)

Reaching out, she grabbed his arm, pulling him back. "I'm serious. What are you all hiding? Is Grandpa's illness recurring? Is that why he missed my wedding a half month ago?"

Jeremy remained quiet. Remembering Deacon's instructions, he shook his head. "There's really nothing." Just two more weeks to endure.

Tiffany's face darkened. "Do I need to investigate myself?"

Jeremy remained silent, unyielding. Tiffany felt uneasy.

She glanced at Jeremy, about to speak, when June rushed over. "Mrs. Hampton, we have news!"

"Let's go!" Tiffany immediately left.

In the car, June explained, "The team tracking Morwen reported back. After she left, she went to a restricted zone with many traps. Our people followed her to the entrance but couldn't proceed."

Tiffany replied calmly, "Knowing the location is enough. Who's inside?"

The place felt vaguely familiar, though memories were fading after thirteen years.

June replied, "It's full of dangerous criminals. Information is scarce. What I found indicates it's not connected to the Azure Sea Royal Family."

Tiffany asked, "Unrelated?"

"Yes," June nodded. "The owner is eccentric, rarely appearing. Those who've seen them say they're strikingly good-looking, with distinctive golden hair."

"Got it." Tiffany nodded. Her recollection of the Azure Sea Royal Family didn't include anyone like that. Thirteen years had changed a lot.

The car drove for over an hour until dusk. The restricted zone was marked with bright red warnings.

Tiffany got out and sniffed the air. She detected a faint trace of Richard's scent—he had been there recently! However, she also smelled a faint scent of blood, identical to Deacon's. She wondered if Deacon was bleeding daily to feed something.

Seeing Tiffany's expression, June asked, "The area is full of traps. Should we wait?"

Tiffany shook her head. "There's no time."

As she spoke, the restricted zone's lights flickered on. The iron gate opened automatically.

June became alert. "Have we been discovered? But there are no surveillance devices…"

Tiffany patted her shoulder. "June, wait in the car."

June refused. "No, I'll go with you…"

"Just stay here," Tiffany interrupted, stepping through the gate with poise and confidence.

Inside, a man lounging on a sofa watched the surveillance feed, smirking. Morwen knelt nearby, wounded. Morwen glanced at the screen, watching Tiffany's composed demeanor.

Morwen clenched her fists, consumed by jealousy. Why does Tiffany capture everyone's attention? They all deserve to die!
