Chapter 698

Tiffany turned and accidentally bumped into someone carrying an uncovered cup of hot coffee. The coffee tilted precariously, but June quickly pulled Tiffany aside, just in time.

“Miss Kelley, are you alright?” June asked anxiously.

“I’m fine,” Tiffany replied with a laugh, patting June’s hand reassuringly. “You don’t need to be so nervous. I’m not made of glass, you know.”

June didn't respond, but her unease was evident. She glanced sharply at the woman holding the coffee, her expression hardening. The woman had deliberately approached Tiffany; there was no doubt about it.

Tiffany followed June’s gaze and froze. The woman looked familiar. June recognized her first. “Mia Lee?” she asked warily.

“Glad you remember me,” Mia said, removing her sunglasses. In her leather jacket, with fiery red lips curled into a confident smile, she looked striking. Compared to the arrogant heiress she once was, Mia now carried herself with a sharper edge.

Mia turned to Tiffany, her expression playful yet calculating. “Long time no see, Tiffany. Or should I call you Mrs. Hampton? Or Miracle Healer?”

Tiffany blinked, her face calm and unbothered. “I’m sorry. Should I know who you are?”

Mia’s smirk faltered. During Mia’s overseas exile, she had considered Tiffany her greatest rival, plotting revenge. But now, she learned Tiffany didn't even recognize her. Mia clenched her teeth, humiliated.

June couldn't help but laugh. Noticing Tiffany’s genuine confusion, she cleared her throat and briefly explained Mia’s background. Tiffany finally nodded in recognition. “Oh, it’s you.”

Mia, the spoiled daughter of a former real estate tycoon, had stolen Tiffany's bracelet and even hired people to eliminate Tiffany. She'd even released a tiger to attack her—only for the tiger to become Tiffany’s loyal pet.

Tiffany’s smile deepened. “I should thank you, Miss Lee. Without your help, I wouldn’t have gotten those two diamond mines so easily.”

Tiffany’s words stung, twisting Mia’s face with anger. If Tiffany hadn’t tricked her as Miracle Healer, Mia wouldn’t have been exiled by her father or seen an illegitimate child take over her family’s business. Mia had been unaware of Tiffany’s identity as Miracle Healer until stumbling across it on Twitter days before. Only then did she realize the person she hated most was the one who’d deceived her.

“Don’t you dare mention that!” Mia shouted, raising her hand to slap Tiffany. Tiffany didn’t flinch, her expression completely calm.

Before Mia could strike, someone grabbed her wrist.

“Mia, why haven’t you learned to control your temper?” Mason said, appearing suddenly. He smiled politely, but his grip on Mia’s wrist was firm.

“Let go of me!” Mia hissed, struggling.

Mason gave her a light shove, and Mia stumbled into the waiting arms of his bodyguards. “Take her home to rest,” Mason ordered calmly.

“Yes, sir!”

The bodyguards escorted Mia away as she cursed and screamed, her voice fading. Mason turned to Tiffany, his smile apologetic. “Miss Kelley, I deeply regret my sister’s behavior. Please allow me to make amends with a meal.”

Tiffany raised an eyebrow, her tone cold. “That won’t be necessary.”

Without another word, she turned and walked away, June following closely.

Once in the car, June commented, “I always thought Mason was someone to watch out for, and now I’m sure of it. He’s crafty and knows how to play both sides.”

Tiffany didn’t respond immediately. The Lee family’s downfall had begun with the loss of their two diamond mines. A series of bad decisions led to their ruin. When Connor was dying, he handed everything to Mason, who surprisingly rebuilt the business within a year, showcasing his skill and ambition.

June frowned. “Miss Kelley, you should stay away from him.”

Tiffany raised an eyebrow. “Why?”

Today’s encounter was purely coincidental, surprising Tiffany. June, usually indifferent, had openly expressed dislike for someone.

“I think he’s looking at you strangely,” June remarked. Most people greeted Tiffany respectfully as “Mrs. Hampton,” but Mason’s gaze was intense, almost invasive. Even addressing her as “Miss Kelley” felt deliberate.

June didn’t elaborate, only warning, “He’s a schemer. It’s best to keep your distance.”

“Okay,” Tiffany replied, unconcerned, having given the matter little thought.

Arriving at Luna Villa, a servant hurried over. “Miss Kelley, Miss Spencer, we just received this invitation.”

June took the card. It was an invitation to the annual Treasure Appraisal Conference hosted by Treasure Tower, with all proceeds donated to charity. Treasure Tower belonged to Tiffany. Before his death, Victor had left all his assets to Tiffany, including Treasure Tower, though she’d returned most of the Ashton family’s properties, keeping only the tower. This invitation wasn't a guest invitation; it was a subtle request for her, the owner, to inspect the venue and the event.
