Chapter 708

Tiffany was momentarily stunned by Daniel’s appearance. However, she quickly composed herself and resumed her work. Pulling a chair closer, she sat down and extended her hand. "Mr. Cooper, I'll check your pulse first. Please describe your symptoms and where you're feeling unwell."

Daniel's gentle gaze met hers; his flawless, fair complexion gave him an almost ethereal quality.

"Alright," he said softly, setting aside his book.

Tiffany took his wrist and began her examination. His pulse was irregular and chaotic. He was gravely ill, but it wasn't poison or a congenital condition; it seemed external.

Her brows furrowed as she struggled to diagnose the problem. For the first time, she felt uncertain.

Despite wanting the consultation fee, Tiffany would never misrepresent a patient's condition. Finally, she said, "Mr. Cooper, your condition is complex. I'm not sure what's causing it."

Daniel simply watched her with an unwavering gaze. His calm demeanor made Tiffany feel pressured and unsettled.

Clearing her thoughts, she continued, "If you trust me, I'll do my best to treat you. However, if my skills are insufficient, I'll refund your deposit."

This was the rule of the Miracle Healer. Tiffany charged based on her judgment. She might waive the fee for patients she liked, double it for others, or refuse cases altogether. If treatment failed, she took no payment.

"You don't have to," Daniel said with a faint smile, which, despite his pale complexion, made him even more striking. "I believe in you."

Tiffany was caught off guard. His trust was unexpected, but she smiled in return. "Thank you, Mr. Cooper. I'll do my best."

After questioning Daniel further, Tiffany began preparing for treatment.

"I'll start with acupuncture. Please let me know immediately if you feel any discomfort," she instructed.

"Understood," Daniel replied. "What should I do?"

"Take off your clothes and lie on the bed," Tiffany said absentmindedly, arranging her silver needles.

Daniel sat still, looking stunned.

Tiffany turned, puzzled. "What's wrong?"

"I need your help, Miss Kelley," he said with a smile, spreading his hands. "I can't move."

Tiffany blinked, realizing her mistake. "I forgot you're in a wheelchair."

Embarrassed, she stepped forward to lift him. His surprise at her strength was evident. Before he could react, she had efficiently placed him on the bed.

Tiffany took out her scissors. "Mr. Cooper, if I damage your clothes, I trust you won't expect compensation?"

"Of course not," he replied with a soft chuckle.

Reassured, Tiffany quickly cut away his expensive white shirt. Even slightly disheveled, he looked effortlessly handsome.

Ignoring this distraction, Tiffany worked swiftly and precisely, inserting the silver needles. Daniel's gaze, however, remained fixed on the mirror, reflecting her focused expression.

Once finished, she stepped back. "Tell me immediately if you feel any discomfort," she reminded him.

"Alright," Daniel said calmly.

Ten minutes passed. Everything seemed fine.

Tiffany frowned. Logically, acupuncture should have triggered a reaction if a serious issue existed. Yet Daniel remained neutral.

Just as she began doubting her methods, he suddenly coughed violently, spitting out black blood.

The stark red stains spread across the bedsheets, and the metallic smell of blood filled the air.

Tiffany quickly removed the needles, restoring normal blood flow. His complexion improved slightly, but he looked even frailer.

Tiffany felt a pang of guilt. "Didn't I tell you to let me know if you felt uncomfortable?" she scolded gently.

Daniel turned his head weakly. "I wanted to endure it so you could better assess my condition."

Tiffany froze. She hadn't expected such self-sacrifice. Most patients would have blamed her.

Tiffany sighed. "Mr. Cooper, even if you hold it in, I can't diagnose your illness like this."

To her surprise, Daniel said, "That's alright. I'm used to it."

Tiffany was speechless. After packing her things, she said at the door, "I'll do everything I can to help you." "Thank you," Daniel replied with a soft smile.

Tiffany left the room. June and Christopher were waiting anxiously outside. "How is he?" they asked urgently.
