Richard chuckled at Tiffany's chirpy voice. He teased, as usual, "You've thanked me so many times; you'll never repay me completely. Why not repay your debt of gratitude by offering yourself to me?"
Tiffany choked on her saliva. She coughed uncontrollably. If not for her Miracle Healer disguise, she would have rushed downstairs and shouted at him. She vividly remembered his reluctance and annoyance toward marriage when he'd dealt with the Miracle Healer. Now, he wanted her to repay her debt by devoting herself to him? "You can dream on!" she snorted, replying, "That won't do. Logically, we're not even in the same generation."
Richard was speechless, his eyes twitching. With a smug voice, Tiffany said, "Alright, I need to go now. Goodbye, Mr. Hampton!" She hung up. Richard's face darkened. He glared toward where Kenneth had been sent, wishing he could drag him back and beat him up again. Meanwhile, Tiffany, in the guest room, put down her phone and rolled on the bed, laughing. I was just repaying him for his disdain, she thought.
For the next few days, Tiffany remained at Royal Bay as the Miracle Healer, performing acupuncture on Evan and checking his pulse daily. Aside from her arrival, she avoided Richard. Fortunately, she avoided further traps and grew accustomed to life at Royal Bay. The scenery was mesmerizing: undulating mountains surrounded the villa, dreamy clouds drifted above, and from the mountaintop, she could see all of Lovell City—skyscrapers complementing the meandering river.
After a few relaxing days, Tiffany had to return to school. The night before, she knocked on Richard's study door. "Mr. Hampton, are you there?" she asked.
"Come in," Richard instructed coldly.
Tiffany entered, finding Richard by a tall bookshelf. "Mr. Hampton, I'm leaving tomorrow," she reported. "But don't worry, I'll check on Evan daily until he wakes. Based on his progress, he should wake within a month." Worried he wouldn't let her go, she added, "I'll keep my word."
After selecting a book, Richard turned, saying coldly, "Sure."
"Thank you," Tiffany said politely. "I'll take my leave now. Please continue your work." She departed.
The next day, the Hampton family's driver was ready to take Tiffany back to the cottage, but June arrived to collect her. Tiffany got into June's car. "June, please take me to school," she instructed.
Sitting in the back, Tiffany changed into her school uniform, removing her disguise to reveal her true beauty. As June drove, she asked, "Did they discover your identity?"
"No," Tiffany answered.
"That's good," June said. "Richard Hampton is dangerous. Maintain a respectful distance. We needn't befriend him, nor become enemies."
Tiffany paused, then smiled. "I know what I'm doing." She planned to kill Kenneth and destroy the Harper family, putting her directly at odds with Richard. She didn't mind flirting with him, but her feelings wouldn't interfere with her revenge—her priority. With Richard's personality, she knew opposing him wouldn't benefit her.
"Many have requested to see the Miracle Healer," June reported. "I've rejected them all. After the Hampton case, the Miracle Healer's reputation will be restored, and doubts will cease. Your next case's rewards will be even higher."
"Okay. You decide," Tiffany replied.
Twenty minutes later, the car stopped briefly at Lovell School's entrance. Tiffany quickly exited, the silver-gray sedan speeding away unnoticed. She carefully concealed her tracks.
Zoe, thrilled to see Tiffany after her week-long suspension, rushed forward and hugged her. "Tiffany, you're finally back! I didn't disappoint you. I've improved at lightning speed!"
Ged chimed in, "That's right. Lightning speed!"
Grd added expressionlessly, "From second to last to fifth."
Tiffany was speechless.
Zoe immediately turned to Ged. "Mind your own business!"
Ged teased, "Your results are public business." They bickered like close friends. Tiffany raised an eyebrow.
Clearly, Ged had kept his promise despite his nonchalant demeanor, protecting Tiffany and Zoe. He was happy to see Tiffany back, exclaiming, "It's good you're back!" No one had caused trouble for them during the week because Mia, the previous instigator, was also suspended. Now that the suspensions ended, Ged worried about further trouble.
"Thanks," Tiffany told Ged, patting his shoulder before returning to her seat. Zoe approached, updating her. "Tiffany, some big things happened while you were gone."
"What happened?" Tiffany asked.
"There's a rumor you drugged Sandra at Kenneth's grandfather's birthday party, almost causing her to lose her virginity! Everyone's talking about it; some are defaming you on the school forum." Zoe looked indignant, but Tiffany remained calm. "What else?" she asked.
"There was an international competition preliminary the day before yesterday," Zoe said. "A famous oil painting master came to our school, and Sandra's painting was chosen. Now she's the most popular person in school."
Tiffany mumbled, "An international competition?" She quickly remembered the competition from her previous life. Ten masters had come, searching for disciples. Sandra had won the preliminary, then the international competition, gaining immense popularity. People compared Tiffany, a "useless beauty," to the "talented all-rounder" Sandra. No one knew Tiffany had painted the winning entry, stolen by Sandra. In her past life, blinded by Sandra's sweet words and a desire to get close to Kenneth, Tiffany had foolishly given away this opportunity. Now, she laughed, vowing not to repeat the mistake. While she didn't care about winning, she wouldn't let Sandra succeed.
Zoe panicked at Tiffany's calm demeanor. "Tiffany! How can you still laugh? Sandra's been unbearably smug! I want to kill her whenever I see her!"
As if summoned, Sandra entered the classroom, surrounded by admirers.
