Listen to this chapter:

Richard looked at Sidney disdainfully. "You talk too much," he said.

Sidney laughed.

"Of course, we can't kill Kenneth," Richard said. "He's my nephew."

Sidney smiled smugly.

Richard suddenly turned, a faint smile playing on his lips. Sidney's hair stood on end. "Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked warily.

"What do you think?" Richard replied, the three words laced with menace.

Sidney reacted slowly, then mimed poking his eyes. "I saw it too! I'll destroy my eyes! I know you've forgotten about me since you got a girlfriend"

After his jokes, Sidney returned to the screen. Tiffany casually picked up a stone, grinned, and threw it at the drone. Her aim was perfect. The drone veered sharply, shook violently, and crashed.

Tiffany dug her ears and smiled mischievously. "Quiet now." The buzzing ceased, and the screen froze on the fallen drone.

Sidney was stunned. "She's so agile!" he exclaimed, impressed and shocked.

Richard smiled and turned off the screen. "No need to follow her. Let me know if anything else happens at the training base." He'd secretly stationed personnel there to monitor Tiffany's movements. The trial, while challenging, was largely unsupervised; he only observed, allowing Tiffany this valuable opportunity. He understood her ambition and watched her progress.

After disabling the drone, the feeling of being watched vanished. Tiffany sighed in relief and accelerated through the level. Destroying the surveillance wasn't impulsive; it was meticulously planned. She needed to find the diamond mine, undetected. With the drone footage compromised, the electronic tracker on her wrist—designed to monitor their location and movements—remained her next obstacle. She pondered how to evade suspicion.

Then, a deep, terrifying tiger roar echoed from a nearby forest.

The accompanying team froze. "Oh no, is it really a tiger?" one student exclaimed. Another added, "Are you kidding? It'll eat us!"

Kenneth said, "Don't worry. Even if there's a tiger, it'll be caged." He was right; the tiger was caged, though someone had secretly released it. The roar grew closer. Distracted, no one noticed Sandra's subtle retreat; she was unconcerned for her safety.

The previous night, while Tiffany showered, Sandra had secretly placed something in Tiffany's backpack—enough to enrage the tiger, ensuring Tiffany would be the first target.

In an instant, the ferocious beast burst from the forest, eyes fixed on its prey, mouth agape, revealing sharp teeth. Its green eyes and drool horrified everyone.

"Ahhh!" The timid students screamed. "It's a real tiger! How could this happen? Didn't you say there'd be no danger?" one cried. Another asked, "We have distress devices. Will the instructor save us if we press them?" "Are you stupid? We'll be dead by then!" Panic spread.

Tiffany's eyes lit up. This was her chance. She shouted at the terrified students, "Hurry and leave!" Then, she ran towards another path, tossing a rock at the tiger.

An enraged roar answered, the tiger's gaze fixed on her. Anyone meeting that deadly stare would be terrified, but Tiffany smiled, beckoning the tiger. "Come here," she commanded.

"Roar…" The tiger, provoked, charged. Tiffany turned and fled, her sudden action catching everyone off guard. Before anyone could react, she'd successfully lured the tiger away, securing their safety.

The students stood stunned, disbelief etched on their faces. They'd all had the same thought: Tiffany risked her life to save them.

They'd always belittled Tiffany, yet she'd saved them. A timid girl wept, "We were so mean to her. We gossiped and broke our bet. But she risked her life" Everyone agreed, consumed by guilt.

Sandra, enraged by their tears, didn't want Tiffany to gain recognition before being killed. But it didn't matter; Tiffany's newfound glory would ensure no one dared oppose her. Sandra, suppressing her grief, cried, "It's still dangerous! We need to leave, or Tiffany's sacrifice will be in vain!"

Usually, some would listen, but this time, disapproval and blame rained down. "Sandra, are you human? Tiffany's your friend! You want to escape, but not contact the base to save her?" "I misjudged you" another student said. "A friend indeed. You're selfish!" They glared, their accusations stinging.

Sandra was stunned. "What's going on? I said it's for everyone's safety!" She clung to Kenneth, weeping, "Kenneth, you understand me, right? I just want everyone to be safe."

But Kenneth's face was grim. "Maybe. But we're not escaping. We're saving Tiffany." The words, though not harsh, felt like isolation to Sandra.

Ignoring her, Kenneth told the others, "Contact the base for rescue."

"What about you?" someone asked.

"I'm going to find Tiffany," Kenneth replied.
