Chapter 215
Amelia wondered if Sandra was here on behalf of Monica, trying to test their attitude.
“Amelia, Landon dumped you and remarried. How can you stay so calm?” Sandra scrutinized Amelia, a gloating smile tugging at her lips.
Amelia bit her lip, her face quickly turning pale.
Maisie darted in front of her, snapping at Sandra, “Shut up! Nothing but trash ever comes out of your mouth!”
“I’m just stating the facts,” Sandra shrugged. “Landon has forgotten all of you. Now, Monica is the only one in his eyes and heart.”
Amelia felt a surge of confidence as she thought to herself, ‘Forgotten? Is this how Landon’s acting at the Montgomery family’s place? If he’s faking amnesia, that means he’s still thinking about me.’
“Amelia, I suggest you let it go. Just get rid of the baby and live your own life,” Sandra said.
Sandra’s gaze fell on Amelia’s belly.
Jealousy and hatred flickered in her eyes, hissing like a snake.
She had been abandoned by Zachary and forced to have an abortion, losing her ability to have children.
Now, she wanted Amelia to suffer the same fate.
“Sandra, since you’re here on behalf of Monica, let me make one thing clear. She stole my husband, and I can’t beat her–I admit it. But!”
Amelia’s tone suddenly hardened, her voice cold and forceful.
“I’m never going to file for divorce! Monica can stay the other woman forever!”
Sandra was visibly taken aback, then narrowed her eyes shrewdly. “Amelia, you were so decisive when you gave up on Zachary. So why is it that with a different man, you just can’t seem to let go?”
“Because Zachary just wasn’t rich enough,” Amelia replied coldly.
Amelia’s face was cold and pale, but the hint of pregnancy gave her a quiet, steely strength.
Sandra wasn’t buying it at all.
Sandra said, “Amelia, you’ve never been the type to care about money…”
Amelia shot back, “If I can’t keep the man, why not keep his money as payback?”
After saying that, Amelia quietly let out a sigh of relief.
Maisie’s plan to stake her claim on the Kingsley family finally came in handy. To keep Landon from being exposed, she had to stir up some trouble in Norava.
Daniel chimed in, “Our family might not need the money, but the more we can take from that scumbag, the better! Let’s make him go broke and starve with his mistress.”
The two of them played off each other so well that Sandra actually believed them.
Sandra scoffed, “You’re so naive! The Montgomery family isn’t hurting for money. No matter what you do, it won’t make a dent!”
“Oh, is that so? Then just watch me,” Amelia retorted. “I’m not like you–lost without a man. Even if I lose Landon, I’m still Mrs. Kingsley, running Kingsley Group!”
Sandra flinched, Amelia’s words struck a nerve.
At this point, she truly had nothing left in this world.
Her family was gone, her love life shattered. The so-called glamorous life she had now was just the result of slaving away for Monica.
However, for Amelia, even after Landon dumped her, she was still living her best life.
If she took over Kingsley Group, she’d be Mrs. Kingsley, wife of a man worth tens of billions of dollars. Even without Landon, she’d still be standing at the very top of Norava.
‘How can people’s lives be so different?’ Sandra thought bitterly.
The more Sandra thought about it, the angrier she got. Her fake sense of superiority crumbled, and she snapped, “Amelia, you’re just an abandoned woman. Hah!”
Amelia didn’t hesitate–she slapped her hard across the face…
Edith, who’d never seen Amelia get physical before, jumped in shock.
Sandra was left dumbfounded, clutching her cheek in disbelief for a few seconds before she finally exploded, “Amelia! How dare you slap me?”
“Damn right I slapped you!” Amelia’s pale face was frosty cold. “Now get the hell out of my sight–or I’ll slap you every single time you show up!”
“Get her!” Sandra barked.
Sandra backed away as her bodyguards immediately stepped up, ready to start a fight.
“Amelia, I’m not the same Sandra you used to know!” Sandra shouted.
“Yeah, I can tell. You’re even dumber and more of a wreck than before!” Amelia shot back.
Amelia stepped back as Daniel strode forward, sneering, “You want to start a fight on my turf? Fine, I’ll give you exactly what you want!”
With a single clap, dozens of well-trained men in black appeared, instantly surrounding Sandra and her crew.
“Beat them! Life or death, I don’t care!” Daniel barked.
At his command, the brawl broke out.
Sandra was completely dumbfounded.
She might have the Kington Gang backing her up, but she’d only brought a handful of people with her.
It didn’t take long before her bodyguards couldn’t protect her anymore.
She tried to make a run for it, but out of nowhere, someone kicked her hard. She crashed to the ground, and a storm of kicks followed.
All she could do was curl up and shield her face.
By the time the beating finally stopped, Sandra was barely hanging on, gasping for breath.
“Sandra, you brought this on yourself,” Amelia said, standing over her as Sandra lay there, her face swollen beyond recognition. Amelia was savoring the sweet taste of payback.
‘Landon was right–showing mercy to your enemies is just being cruel to yourself,’ she thought.
If she’d just sent Sandra to prison back then, none of this mess would’ve happened.
It might be late, but at least she was making up for it now–better late than never.
“You… you…” Sandra groaned weakly, feeling like she was about to die.
‘No way. That can’t happen. This is a law-abiding society–getting into a fight is illegal. There’s no way she’d actually dare to kill me,’ Sandra tried to reassure herself.
“I was going to spare your life, but you never learn,” Amelia said coldly, twisting the ring on her finger to reveal a tiny, nearly invisible poison needle.
Her dark eyes brimmed with murderous intent.
Even back at the Kyle family estate, when she went after Aiden, she hadn’t radiated this much killing intent.
Sandra was terrified. “What… what are you going to do?”
“I’m going to kill you,” Amelia said coldly, extending her delicate fingers to show off the ring. “You want to know how I took down Aiden? It was this very ring.”
Sandra’s eyes went wide in utter disbelief.
‘Could it really be that simple?’ she thought, panic flooding her mind.
“Aiden had the Kington Gang to back him up, so he got the antidote. But you? You can just wait for the poison to finish you off,” Amelia said, her voice icy.
“Amelia, that’s against the law…” Sandra stammered.
She tried desperately to curl up and scoot backward, wanting nothing more than to escape.
But after being kicked so many times, she had no idea how many bones were broken–her whole body was in so much pain, she was completely numb.
“I dare,” Amelia said, stalking closer with every step.
Sandra was so terrified that her mind went utterly blank.
Just as the poison needle was about to stab into Sandra, Daniel was a step faster–he grabbed Amelia’s hand. “Amelia, hold on.”
“Daniel, let me kill her!” Amelia snarled through gritted teeth. “She’s the one who ran her mouth at the Kyle family and got Aiden to target me!”
“Your hands are too beautiful to be stained with blood,” Daniel said softly. “Being a Kington Gang thug is enough to get her killed.”
“Daniel…” Amelia called out, her voice trembling with emotion.
“Hand her over to the Flying Tiger Sect,” Daniel ordered coolly.
Daniel slowly pulled Amelia back, giving a subtle nod for his men to drag Sandra away.
As a member of the Kington Gang, Sandra knew all too well what the Flying Tiger Sect meant.
She let out a desperate scream. “Amelia, I was wrong! Please, just spare me this once–I swear I’ll never do it again…”
Amelia closed her eyes, taking a deep breath.
She kept them shut, only opening them again when Sandra’s screams finally faded away.
“Amelia…” Maisie said worriedly.
Amelia gave a radiant smile. “I’m fine. I’ve wanted to settle things with her for a long time, and today was the perfect chance.”
“Yeah.” Maisie hugged her tightly, not asking anything more.
Edith came over and wrapped her arms around them too.
Daniel started to reach out for a hug, but remembering propriety between men and women, he awkwardly pulled his hand back.
‘Are you seeing this, Landon? She’s gotten so strong, all for you! Come on, hurry up and get your memory back!’ Daniel thought to himself.
In Dreicean, Landon stared at himself in the mirror, his face dazed and stunned, as if he couldn’t recognize the man looking back at him.
After a moment, he reached up to the back of his head, and a blinding, excruciating pain shot through his entire body–numbing him from his scalp all the way down to his heels.
