Chapter 180

Landon and Amelia rushed home excitedly, eager to share their good news with Gloria. To their surprise, the house was packed with people. Donna was there, along with Henry and Cynthia, and even Camila. Camilaโ€™s face was tear-streaked, and she looked completely disheveled.

Landon and Amelia exchanged bewildered glances, thinking, "Whatโ€™s going on here?"

โ€œLandon, please release Patrick. Fraser is sick. Only Patrickโ€™s blood can save him!โ€ Camila begged tearfully.

Landon suddenly understood. "Camila had already revealed Fraserโ€™s true parentage! Fraser was Patrickโ€™s son. Though born of an illicit union, he was now Henryโ€™s only grandson, the sole heir."

"So, their whole family accepted this fact and came en masse to plead with me," Landon thought.

โ€œLandon, I know Patrick has done many wrong things. But Fraser is innocent. Just release him!โ€ Donna said.

Landon thought, "When she was young, she favored Henry. When she had a grandson, she doted on Patrick. Now with a great-grandson, sheโ€™s playing favorites more than ever."

โ€œGrandma, how should I know where Patrick is?โ€ Landon shrugged and took a seat, while Amelia quietly sat beside Gloria and whispered, โ€œGloria, do you agree too?โ€

Gloria sighed. โ€œOh, that poor childโ€ฆโ€ As a mother, Gloria couldnโ€™t bear to see any child suffer. Amelia fell silent, waiting for Landon to make his own decision.

โ€œLandon, stop playing games with us. You were the last person Patrick met before he disappeared. Weโ€™ve already checked with the Atkinson family. Youโ€™re the one who got him out of here.โ€ Henryโ€™s tone was meek, a far cry from his usual arrogance.

Amelia couldnโ€™t help but think, "Serves him right."

Landon said, โ€œUncle Henry, what are you trying to say? Where could I possibly have sent Patrick? Maybe heโ€™s just pulling a disappearing act. Why donโ€™t you try calling the police?โ€

Henryโ€™s face contorted in disgust, as if heโ€™d swallowed a fly. "If calling the cops would help, would I be here begging you?" Henry thought.

โ€œLandon, no matter what, the child is innocent. Please, save Fraser,โ€ Cynthia pleaded, pretending to wipe her eyes, her voice choked with emotion, but her eyes remained completely dry.

โ€œIf Uncle Henry is willing to take a stand, Iโ€™d be happy to help look for Patrick,โ€ Landon said.

Henry asked, โ€œWhat kind of stand?โ€

Landon narrowed his eyes. โ€œDisown Patrick from the Kingsley family and let him fend for himself. From now on, he gets no share of the Kingsley Groupโ€™s dividends.โ€

"Patrickโ€™s so ruthless. Heโ€™s made Amy suffer so much. Thereโ€™s no way Iโ€™ll let him keep living off the Kingsley Groupโ€™s money," Landon thought.

Henry hesitated. โ€œIt wonโ€™t affect my share of the dividends, will it?โ€

โ€œMy father promised youโ€™d always receive your share, and I intend to keep that promise. But I donโ€™t want to support Patrick anymore," Landon replied.

โ€œAlright!โ€ For the sake of his grandson, Henry gritted his teeth and agreed.

Donna felt sorry for Patrick and pleaded, โ€œLandon, canโ€™t you make another concession? For the sake of the Kingsley familyโ€™s bloodlineโ€ฆโ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Landon scoffed with disdain.

"Iโ€™m so tired of them doing everything in the name of the Kingsley family," he thought. "Fraser is Patrickโ€™s son, not mine. Besides, my son is on the way. Only my son will be the true heir to the Kingsley family."

โ€œLandon, wonโ€™t you even listen to me now?โ€ Donna raised her voice in anger.

Landon offered no defense, simply fixing his gaze on Henry. Knowing his nephewโ€™s temperament and methods, and anxious to see his son as soon as possible, Henry turned to persuade Donna instead. โ€œMom, let it go. Letโ€™s do it this wayโ€ฆโ€

โ€œOnce you finish the legal separation, notify me and Iโ€™ll arrange for someone to look for him. Itโ€™s getting late. I wonโ€™t keep you any longer,โ€ Landon said firmly.

Henryโ€™s family slunk away in defeat. Before leaving, Camila bowed to Landon. โ€œThank youโ€ฆโ€

โ€œDonโ€™t do that,โ€ Landon quickly stopped her. โ€œJust make sure he doesnโ€™t cause any more trouble.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll keep a close eye on him,โ€ Camila said.

Camila, the forever-unacknowledged daughter-in-law, looked grateful. "She is the only one in Henryโ€™s family with any decency left," Landon thought.

Gloria sighed, โ€œNow that Fraserโ€™s true parentage has come out, Camilaโ€™s husband almost beat her to death. Theyโ€™ve already kicked her out of the house.โ€

Landon smiled and said, โ€œMom, thatโ€™s not our concern. Your daughter-in-law is pregnant. You should be worrying about her instead.โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€ Gloria was overjoyed and stunned.

Landon waved the hospital report smugly and said, โ€œIโ€™m telling you, youโ€™re going to be a grandma.โ€

โ€œOh, thatโ€™s wonderful, so wonderfulโ€ฆโ€ Gloria clutched Ameliaโ€™s hand tightly. โ€œAmy, tell me this isnโ€™t a joke.โ€

โ€œGloria, itโ€™s true! Iโ€™m pregnant,โ€ Amelia said shyly, biting her lip.

Gloria pulled her into a hug. โ€œIโ€™m going to be a grandma! Isaac, can you see this from heaven? Weโ€™re going to have a grandson.โ€

Amelia reminded her, โ€œMom, we donโ€™t even know if itโ€™s a boy or a girl yet.โ€

โ€œAs long as itโ€™s our familyโ€™s child, theyโ€™ll be the next CEO of the Kingsley Group,โ€ Gloria said.

Amelia shook her head and laughed, thinking Gloria was over the moon. It wasnโ€™t until much later that Amelia realized Gloria hoped this baby would be a girl and wanted to raise her to be just like Landon, because it was her way of making up for what she owed Kayla.

Henryโ€™s family acted swiftly this time. By the next day, they had completed the formal disownment procedures. They also prepared a notarized severance agreement, officially severing all ties between Patrick and Henry, and promising Patrick would no longer receive dividends from the Kingsley Group.

Landon was just as efficient. He called someone to bring Patrick back. But unexpectedly, the person on the other end said, โ€œMr. Kingsley, Patrick is missing.โ€

โ€œHow is that possible?โ€ Landon was shocked.

He thought, "Patrick had his tendons severed in his limbs. Even after treatment, he is permanently disabled. Moreover, heโ€™s confined in Ausposh and is under constant surveillance. How could he possibly disappear?"

โ€œHe vanished three days ago. We thought weโ€™d try to find him first, so we didnโ€™t report it to youโ€ฆโ€ the person on the other end said.

โ€œAnd now? Any leads?โ€ Landon asked.

โ€œNone. Itโ€™s like Patrick had vanished without a trace. We canโ€™t find a single clue. Weโ€™ve reported it to the local police, but it hasnโ€™t helpedโ€ฆโ€ said the man on the other end.

Landonโ€™s expression darkened.

Henry nervously asked, โ€œLandon, whatโ€™s going on?โ€

โ€œHeโ€™s missing. We need to find him,โ€ Landon replied.

Henryโ€™s expression changed instantly. โ€œMissing? What the hell do you mean?โ€

โ€œHe escaped,โ€ Landon said coolly.

โ€œWhat are we supposed to do now? Fraser needs his blood transfusion to survive!โ€ Henryโ€™s eyes reddened with anxiety as he slammed his hands on Landonโ€™s desk, glaring at him. โ€œDid you kill my son?โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t do anything illegal,โ€ Landon said coldly. โ€œFor now, get Fraser treated. Iโ€™ll send more people to search.โ€

Henry hissed, โ€œLandon, youโ€™d better find my son. If anything happens to Fraser, I swear to God, Iโ€™ll fight you to death!โ€

With that threat, Henry rushed to the hospital to see his grandson.

Aaron frowned in confusion. โ€œMr. Kingsley, how could Patrick possibly escape in his condition? And if he did, why didnโ€™t he come home?โ€

The words hit Landon like a bolt from the blue. He suddenly sat bolt upright. โ€œHe didnโ€™t escape. Someone abducted him.โ€

"But who would want to abduct Patrick?" Landon wondered.
