Chapter 15
Leo waited at home, having prepared several paintings and asked Daphne to make food he thought girls would enjoy.
Seeing Leo so unusually excited, Daphne asked, "Do you know what girls like to eat?"
Leo shook his head. He didn't know, but suggested checking the internet. He pointed to her phone and asked, "Could you help me?"
Daphne found Leo's excitement endearing. She had cared for him since childhood, but his sudden whims still sometimes overwhelmed her. She often wondered who could have given birth to such a charming boy.
Daphne nodded, sat on the sofa, and searched "What food do girls like to eat?" Many answers appeared, including bubble tea, chocolate, cake, and more.
Leo smiled at the results, saying, "It turns out Lauren and I like the same food." He already knew they shared a love of dancing and painting; now, he realized they also had similar tastes in food.
With everything prepared, Leo sat obediently on the sofa, awaiting Lauren's arrival. Everything was perfect except for his father sitting beside him. Leo felt a little dissatisfied and wondered why his father was still there.
"Dad, aren't you going to work?" Leo asked, hoping to encourage him to leave.
Charlie glanced at Leo, crossed his legs, and, seeing through his son's intentions, asked, "Do you want me to leave?" Leo remained silent.
Charlie looked directly at Leo and said, "Your friend Lauren is an adult; adults should entertain other adults. If it were only you, she might be uncomfortable."
Nervous, Leo clenched his fists. "Then what should I do?"
Charlie sat up straight, stretched his long legs, and said casually, "So I'm here with you."
Leo was touched by his father's consideration.
