Chapter 65

Hearing Kelly's statement, everyone in the living room was stunned. They almost forgot Lauren was a high-achieving postgraduate biology student capable of working at well-known companies. The surprising fact was that, despite being a staff member, Herman had personally chosen an assistant for her.

Mr. Bennett Sr. also noticed this. He smiled and asked, "It seems Mr. Shaw pays a great deal of attention to Lauren."

Kelly smiled and replied, "Yes, Lauren is very important to MY company. She's one of MY's shareholders and has made significant contributions to the research and development of our products." She continued, "You can even Google her. She's an excellent scientist and scholar, known as one of the most outstanding young biologists of the past ten years."

Everyone was shocked. Darren announced he had to leave, as did Jeffery, citing work commitments. Only Sally remained on the sofa, an embarrassed expression on her face. Remembering her earlier comments, she bit her lip, feeling increasingly mortified.

"How could it be? How could Lauren be a scientist? She doesn't look like one at all," Sally thought. To verify this, she took out her phone and searched for Lauren online.

Lauren's impressive achievements and honors quickly appeared. Sally stared in disbelief at one line: "First Prize, International Biology Olympiad."

Mrs. Bennett, equally surprised, also searched for Lauren. Realizing her daughter's accomplishments, she felt a wave of embarrassment, remembering her call to Lauren's teacher, urging her to quit her lab job. That teacher must have had a good laugh!

Mr. Bennett Sr. was overjoyed. He asked Kelly for more information about Lauren, admitting he knew little about her life after she turned five.

"Lauren is incredible!" Mr. Bennett Sr. exclaimed, brimming with pride.

"Yes," Kelly agreed excitedly, clearly admiring Lauren. "Lauren founded MY's brand after extracting the key substance. She's not only a shareholder, but also the most important member of our research and development department."

"We had a critical problem that stumped our R&D team for six months. Mr. Shaw brought Lauren in, and she solved it within three days! She earned the immense respect of our R&D department, which is comprised of many renowned scientists."

Mr. Bennett Sr. smiled. "I'm so proud of Lauren!"

Kelly nodded. "Lauren is capable of anything!"

(Note: I have removed the asterisks from the word "assistant" and the word "embarrassed" as they seem to have been used for censorship and are not needed. The use of "MY" for the company name is inconsistent and should be clarified for clarity if possible.)
