Chapter 1100
"I'm almost ready. Do you want me to dismiss everyone here?" he asked.
"Yes. Dismiss all the servants except those coming with us. Let no one remain," she replied coldly. She consistently recruited new people wherever she went, bringing only a few from home; everyone else was a new recruit. These servants were kept at arm's length to protect her secret.
Chump nodded. Heather stopped him as he began to carry out her orders. "Wait! Where's Hannah?"
"Inside the house."
"Bring her here. I need to speak with her."
"Okay!"
After Chump left, a dull ache seized Heather's chest. She clutched her chest as her throat tightened, then she coughed up a mouthful of blood. Advanced kickboxing seemed too strenuous. She needed more practice.
Hannah quietly ascended the stairs, her footsteps so soft as to be unnoticed. Though the door was ajar, she knocked twice, entering cautiously only after hearing a response from within.
"Heather, were you looking for me?" Seeing the blood on Heather's mouth, she exclaimed, "Heather, are youโ"
"Don't shout!" Heather glared, saying, "Come in and close the door!"
Hannah quickly complied, closing the door and entering. "Heather, are you... all right?" She stared at Heather worriedly.
"I'll live. It's a minor injury!" Heather wiped her lower lip. Seeing the blood, she smiled nonchalantly. Injuries were commonplace; this was nothing unusual. As long as she mastered this advanced kickboxing technique, she feared nothing, even if she suffered now.
"Is it because of the man who hurt you? Is that why you're healing so slowly?" Biting her lip, Hannah murmured, "This is all my fault. I'm so useless; I can't even avenge you."
Heather burst into laughter. "You? Avenge me?" Hannah was so frail she couldn't even manage a chicken; how could she avenge Heather when Heather herself couldn't defeat Alexander? It was absurd!
"I know I'm useless. I'm so sorry!" Hannah lowered her head, speaking softly.
Seeing her timid demeanor, Heather's anger flared. She waved her hand dismissively. "Enough! You're becoming too unlike me! Stay home and practice, or someone might see through you!"
"Okay! I understand!" Hannah's greatest strength was obedience. She'd had a rebellious phase, but Heather had quickly corrected it. Thinking this, Heather couldn't help but ask, "Do you still miss him?"
