Chapter 1253
It was strange for Alexander to receive an apology from a baby. However, when Galen was born, the couple agreed not to argue in front of their children, even when disagreeing about their upbringing. They needed to present a united front, at least to their children. Any disagreements would be discussed privately. After all, inconsistent parenting would be counterproductive.
With puffed cheeks and a pout, Galen looked utterly adorable. He looked first at his mother's stern expression, then at his indifferent father, before softly saying, "Sorry."
"Who are you apologizing to?" Lily asked deliberately, tilting her head as if she hadn't heard.
"Papa," Galen mumbled.
Alexander was stunned. He knew how to address me, after all. He was just defying me earlier.
"Don't pretend to cry and make false accusations!" Lily lightly patted Galen's bottom. The feel of his soft skin prompted her to gently squeeze, eliciting a chuckle.
Tears still clinging to his eyes, Galen looked adorable, crying and laughing simultaneously.
The couple continued playing with Galen until, exhausted, he fell asleep. They sent him to his room with Daisy, and Lily stretched luxuriously. "I'm so tired! More exhausting than a day in the lab!"
Childcare was challenging. Fortunately, they had a nanny; otherwise, Lily wouldn't have coped.
"Stop experimenting then. Have a good rest at home," Alexander joked, earning an eye roll.
"I said playing with Galen was tiring. When did I mention experiments?"
"You're right. Galen's lively and restless, just like you!" He nodded, acknowledging the challenge. "I think it's time we found him a teacher."
"A teacher?" Lily, enjoying Alexander's shoulder massage, abruptly turned her head, causing a sharp pain. "Ouch! That hurt!" "You need to stop turning your head so suddenly!" Alexander quickly massaged her neck, feigning anger. "You'll hurt yourself."
"I'm not sure about that, but your suggestion shocked me! Galen's still a baby! Why a teacher?"
Alexander saw nothing unusual about his suggestion. "He's over a year old. I understood things early. By three, I memorized classic poems and solved first-grade math problems. Don't people teach children early these days?"
He'd researched early childhood education and wanted a professional tutor. He'd had a private tutor as a child, allowing him to excel academically, skip grades, and graduate university at seventeen. He'd also begun learning the family business at a young age under Hugo's tutelage.
"So, in business, do you still need all those classic poems?" Lily countered, leaving Alexander speechless.
