Chapter 1265

Lily rounded the rockery and saw the housekeeper leading Austin in. He wasn't wearing a suit, but casual clothes, and looked humbled. Lily raised an eyebrow, quickened her pace, and walked away.

Austin had fallen asleep while waiting at the gate. Upon waking, he found the gate still closed, with no sign of being let in. Most puzzling was the presence of the red sports car.

"This doesn't make sense!" he mused. "Dominic usually doesn't entertain guests long, usually getting rid of them within half an hour. Yet he's been with the same guest for hours. That person must be special."

Just as he despaired of entry, the housekeeper arrived, informing him Dominic was ready to see him.

Thrilled, Austin followed her into the compound. However, a chill ran down his spine as he rounded a bend in the garden. He shuddered, halting as he glanced over his shoulder. A figure flashed past on the other side of the garden and vanished, obscured by dense foliage; Austin only caught a glimpse.

"Hmm..." He frowned, the figure seeming vaguely familiar.

"Sir?" The housekeeper, noticing his silence, stopped and looked back. Austin, lost in thought, startled.

"I'm coming!" he hurried, quickening his pace. He glanced back, but the figure was gone. Puzzled, he followed the housekeeper into the living room.

Dominic soon shuffled in from the back door, slippers on, a teapot in hand. He took two sips, sighed contentedly, and looked up at Austin. "Why are you here again?"

"My grandpa wanted to know how you're doing and asked me to visit," Austin replied quickly. "I know you dislike supplements, so I only brought tea leaves."

"How good could your tea leaves be? You know nothing about them!" Dominic snorted, seating himself and crossing his legs. He eyed Austin askance. "Since your grandpa wants to know how I'm doing, why send you, a little brat, instead of coming himself?"

"My grandpa is old and not as healthy as he used to be. He struggles with self-care."

Dominic narrowed his eyes, feigning disinterest. After a moment, Austin blurted out, "I remember those special pills you made. Could you give two to my grandpa? I'll take them to him."

"Tsk!" Dominic's voice was sharp, his gaze fixed on Austin. "How dare you?"

"You know I only made eight! They took so much effort, energy, time, and money! And you ask for two just like that? Is your grandpa dying?" Dominic's bluntness left Austin blushing with embarrassment.
