Chapter 1350

"Beef... burritos..." Galen repeated excitedly.

Lily smiled at the two children, drooling at the thought of food, and shook her head. "No, we're not having that."

Anastasia deflated at the news. Galen, however, was jumping in her arms. "I want to eat! I want! I want to eat!"

"You can have some beef and vegetables," Lily said.

"Really?!" Anastasia perked up.

"You should eat foods high in vitamins and protein at night and cut back on carbohydrates," Lily explained. "However, you can only eat until you're 70% full."

"Okay! Even half full is fine!" Anastasia nodded impatiently. This was already good news. Before, her daily diet consisted solely of cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, or eggsโ€”the sight of which made her nauseous. Now, she could eat meat and even have scones for lunch! Pure happiness! She listened to Lily's advice, chewing thoroughly and eating slowly. Unconsciously, her appetite lessened. Her anxiety about food scarcity subsided, preventing her from overeating. Now, she looked forward to her next meal. With better self-control, she saw life anew.

"Lily, the scones we had this afternoon weren't like those in the market. What are they made of?" she asked curiously. The afternoon's scones were darker, less greasy, and less crispy than those sold elsewhere. She'd never seen anything like them.

"Aren't they as delicious as those you've had before?" Lily asked with a smile.

"No, no, no!" Anastasia shook her head vehemently. "It's delicious!"

Galen tapped Lily, wanting to join the conversation. "Delicious? Can your tiny teeth even bite them?" Lily tickled him, revealing his sparse baby teeth.

Anastasia, worried Lily didn't believe her, said, "I'm not saying it's not good. It is! I've just never had anything like it before."

"Probably not. They're made with whole wheat bread," Lily replied. "Most people eat white bread now, which is linked to various health issues. Whole wheat reduces blood sugar and fat buildup. It's also a slow-carb food, keeping you full longer and with a lower glycemic index. It's good for you."

Though Anastasia barely understood, she trusted Lily's intentions. Lily looked at Anastasia adoringly.

"Lily, you're amazing! Have you studied nutrition? Were you a doctor? Did you specialize in weight loss?"

Lily hesitated. She could be considered a doctor in her field, but specializing in weight loss was too specific.
