However, on second thought, she found it unsurprising to see him there. She had gathered her desired items into a bag, carrying the bulky container. She reasoned that since she was already there, she might as well take as much as she could.

"What good stuff have you plundered this time?" Dominic asked, lifting his eyelids. He didn't seem to mind, however, and showed no intention of checking her bag.

"The ones you don't appreciate, okay?" she replied, glancing toward her son. "Galen, have you been naughty and bullied Grandpa?" The little boy, seemingly ignoring her, buried his head in a pile of snacks.

"Hmm-hmm," he mumbled, indicating his enjoyment.

"No, no, he's been a well-behaved boy!" Dominic said protectively. "There's food, drinks, and toys here. Of course he's on his best behavior!"

"Really?" Lily questioned, curling her lips skeptically. "Then how about we come again tomorrow?"

"Well..." Dominic replied awkwardly. I knew it. My son is mischievous and perpetually restless. It's fine if he's not causing havoc, but to expect him to be well-behaved? That's hardly realistic. Still, Dominic was protective of the boy, his feelings a mixture of fear and affection.

Seeing their casual banter, Austin felt a pang of jealousy. He had never seen Dominic like this—easygoing, slightly mischievous, almost like a doting grandfather joking around. He's never behaved this way before. It can only mean Dominic is much closer to Lily than to me.

"Granduncle..." Austin said, finding his voice, looking from Lily to Dominic. "You two..."

"Us?" Lily asked Dominic, raising an eyebrow.

You haven't told him about our relationship, have you? Dominic shrugged.

How would I dare without your permission? Lily nodded in agreement, and Dominic grinned smugly.

Austin was dumbfounded. What the hell is going on? Am I invisible? Can't anyone answer my question?

"What are you asking so much for? It's not like you don't know Lily!" Dominic feigned a cough, attempting to evade the question.

Austin thought rapidly, wondering why Lily and Dominic were so close before he became fond of her son. Dominic rarely left his house over the years; his social circle was limited. There can only be one explanation for his familiarity with Lily...

"I see!" he exclaimed, slapping his head as realization dawned. Dominic was baffled; Austin, dumbfounded.
