Chapter 147

Lily smiled nonchalantly. "So, who is it from La Beauté Group, then?"

Jenny sighed. "What do you mean, 'who'? It's a misunderstanding. I'm not sure why Mr. Will insists on keeping you here, but it's not just your connections or luck. You have the potential to be a great perfumer." This was a significant affirmation for Lily. "Thanks. I'm glad you think so."

"Hey, stop flattering me! Didn't you say you wanted to sleep? Go ahead, but don't sleep too long," Jenny said, glancing at her watch. "We need to arrive at the site early."

"The site?" Lily repeated, quickly understanding. Middle Valley's climate was ideal for flowers and plants. Therefore, there were many parterres, including those for grafting new breeds on a considerable scale. After all, perfumers benefit from seeking fragrances from natural resources. Each plant is a treasure, uniquely endowed by nature. After refining, purifying, and processing the plants, and incorporating other fragrances, a perfumer creates various scented perfumes.

"I'm not sleepy anymore. Let's go," Lily said, checking the time. "I'll shower and change. We can leave afterward."

"Aren't you tired?" Jenny asked, watching Lily walk to the bathroom.

"I'm fine. I managed to nap earlier," Lily said. She immediately regretted her phrasing; Jenny's scrutinizing look confirmed it. 'Whatever. The more I explain, the more suspicious she'll be. I'll say nothing.'

Soon, Lily emerged from the shower. Jenny had packed and was waiting. "Let's go downstairs for breakfast. This hotel offers a buffet, and it should be ready now." Just then, the doorbell rang.

"Who is it?" Jenny asked, near the door but not opening it.

"Room service. My apologies for disturbing you, ma'am. I have brought your breakfast," a polite voice said from outside.

Jenny turned to Lily, then opened the door, revealing a waiter and his dining cart. "Good morning. I'm here to serve your breakfast."

"The hotel has a buffet, doesn't it? Will this incur extra charges?" Jenny asked, mindful of expense reports. "Your room rate includes this service. The buffet is in the restaurant," the waiter replied, placing the food on the table. After setting down the cutlery, he added, "Enjoy your meal!" The abundance of food astonished Jenny. 'Why would we go to the buffet when we have this? This is far better than downstairs. They've given us a huge variety and portion! How will we finish it?'

"This hotel provides exceptional service! I must remember this place and book a room here again," Jenny exclaimed, seating herself and gesturing to Lily. "Why are you still standing? Sit and eat!"

Then, clearly satisfied, she continued, "Let me tell you, I've never received such treatment on a business trip—and I've been on many. This hotel is fantastic, and our company fully supports us. That's why we must excel! This trip will be worthwhile if we gain inspiration or learn something new."

Lily knew someone had arranged for their in-room breakfast.
