Chapter 150
"Y-You're up?" Melanie forced a smile. "You're going to get what you deserve." His words washed away her humiliation. She looked at him with wide, gleaming eyes. "Really?"
"Of course!" He lowered his head and kissed her forehead. "Take a shower and get dressed. I'm taking you somewhere later."
"Where are we going?" The question energized her.
"Didn't you want to learn how to become a star perfumer? Then don't ask questions; just do as I say."
He stood, withdrawing his arms. As he looked down at her, Melanie felt immense pressure and was speechless.
Even though he was right, it felt like he was pricing her. It made her uncomfortable, but she would give him what he wanted in exchange for her dreams. That's how deals worked.
He'd find it amusing if she suddenly worried about her pride—she was nothing more than a commodity to him. Reaching this understanding, she felt better. Frank was satisfied and laughed complacently. Returning to her tiny room, she felt completely different. Soon, she would leave all this behind and live the luxurious life she’d always wanted.
She chose a sheer dress and silver stilettos, creating a sexy look. Standing before the mirror, she examined herself. Though slightly pale from the previous night, her figure looked great.
After applying makeup, she checked her phone. It had died last night, so she'd left it charging in the kitchen. She hadn't expected to need it, but turning it on revealed a flurry of messages from Nathaniel:
"Mel, pick up the phone. There's something I need to tell you." "Mel, are you still mad at me? I can explain." "Mel, turn on your phone! I'm worried about you!" "Mel, it's all my fault. Please forgive me." "Mel, I can give you anything you want. Don't be angry at me, please?" "You know that you're the only one I love!"
Melanie felt nothing. She might have hesitated before last night, but now, her choice was made. 'Give me anything I want? I'm not that dumb to wait for him. He can save it for himself!'
