Chapter 1672

"What the..." The crowd reacted in shock and confusion. While test subject mortality occasionally occurred, a complete lack of survival was highly unusual. Furthermore, the mice had been healthy for days, making their sudden demise inexplicable.

"I'm sure you all know these mice were drinking the herbal medicine I made, so I must take responsibility for their deaths," Lily said.

Dashiell nearly laughed. "So you admit there's a problem with your so-called medicine, right?"

"No. On the contrary, there's nothing wrong with my medicine," Lily retorted, turning with unwavering certainty.

Dashiell scoffed. "We're witnessing a 100% mortality rate! Yet you still claim your medicine is fine? You're not suggesting the problem lies with the mice, are you?"

Lily simply smiled. "That's right. Something is wrong with these mice."

"What the hell?" The others looked incredulous.

"Someone tampered with the mice, and that's why they died," Lily stated, glancing around at the empty cages.

"You're being ridiculous!" Dashiell scoffed, taking two steps forward. Seeing Dr. Blanc's impassivity and the others' expectant silence, he continued, "We all know the higher-ups provided the lab mice. How is it that only your mice died? What's so special about them?"

He then addressed the others pretentiously. "Hey, have your mice died? Mine are fine!" He spread his arms, anticipating Lily's humiliation.

"Yes, only mine are different," Lily replied confidently, avoiding a direct answer.

Edmund frowned. "Lily, what are you saying?"

He muttered under his breath, "Is she nuts? All the lab mice came from the same source. We've never had this problem before. Since her mice died, she's trying to shift blame instead of finding the cause. I never thought she was like this."

Dashiell chuckled, glancing at Dr. Blanc. "Ha, Dr. Blanc, she's blaming you!" "Our mice were distributed at your instruction. Now that she says her mice are different, what do you think?"

"Carry on," Dr. Blanc replied calmly.

Deflated by Dr. Blanc's lack of anger, Dashiell stepped aside.

Lily continued, "My test subjects are different because someone tampered with them!"

"Who?" Edmund asked sharply.

"Yeah, who?" Dashiell echoed. "I suggest you think carefully before you speak. We're colleagues. If what you claim is true, why sabotage you and not others? Because you're so special? Why are only your mice dead? Lily, think before you accuse. Who are you implying is the culprit?"

Lily smiled, gazing directly at him. "I'm not implying. I'm accusing you."

She pointed directly at him. Dashiell's sneer vanished as all eyes turned to him, stunned.
