Tasia, stay by your father's side and don't let anyone touch him. I'll go downstairs to investigate. Once the driver arrives, I'll send him to the private hospital immediately. Don't worry. Your father is family, and I'm as concerned about him as you are. I'll be here until the end. I was with you when your mother passed, and I'll be here if something happens to your father today.
Fabian patted his chest confidently and gave Alexander a stern look. Anastasia continued sobbing silently. Fabian patted her worriedly. "Tasia, did you hear me? This is urgent. You need to calm down!"
Seeing her father's state, she nodded, still distraught. "I-I know!"
Though uneasy, Fabian went downstairs to assess the situation.
Alexander stood with furrowed brows, his gaze fixed on two puddles of blood Cameron had expelled. They were different colorsโthe first a dark, almost black red, and the second a bright scarlet. The first was sticky. Both emitted a strong metallic odor, now permeating the room.
"Dad? Dad, what's wrong? Can you hear me? Can you answer me?" Anastasia cried out.
Her worry about her father's coma had intensified into terror as he coughed up blood, and Alexander simply watched. She feared he might die. If Lily were here, she would know what to do.
"Mr. Russell, what's wrong with my dad? Why is he vomiting so much blood?" Anastasia sobbed.
Alexander's frown deepened. "To be honest, I don't know. Lily only instructed me to administer the antidote; she said nothing else. She didn't mention this possibility, but..." He paused. "I don't think it's serious."
"Huh?" Anastasia, tears still streaming, looked at him, confused. Didn't he say he didn't know? How can he say it's not serious? Is he just trying to comfort me?
"Look," he pointed to the blood. "This is the first instance of vomiting. The blood is dark red and sticky. This is the second; the bright red is more noticeable."
"Yes, but so what?" Anastasia remained confused.
"From my experience, I believe your father expelled the poison from his body," Alexander explained gently. "The coughing itself isn't necessarily bad. People cough to expel foreign matter, and I think that's what happened."
Though still uncertain, Anastasia found his explanation reasonable. "Really?"
Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Don't worry. Lily would say something if your father were in critical condition. Since she hasn't contacted me, it's likely fine."
