"I do!" Mike gripped his phone tightly, struggling to control his emotions. "My men found Nick's last known location. He's in Yudonia."
This surprised Mike. "Yudonia?" He hesitated, then quickly denied the possibility. "That's impossible! My men have searched the world, including Yudonia. I have extensive connections there, and none have seen Nick. If he were there, I would know. Your news is wrong!"
Mike was disappointed. He'd hoped to finally find his son, but immediately suspected Alexander's information was false. Then again, if it were that easy, he would have found Nick long ago.
"Are you sure?" Alexander loosened his tie, breathing deeply. He gazed into the distance; the cloudy sky seemed endless. From Dominic's sprawling suburban manor, he could see far, yet still couldn't count the trees or garden herbs. He looked down and continued softly, "Did your men search the Royal Palace of Yudonia?"
"Where?!" Mike exclaimed, then lowered his voice. "The royal palace? What are you talking about? How's that possible? Theโฆ" He trailed off, lost in thought, yet beginning to consider the possibility. The palace's tight security would have prevented his men from entering. If Nick were there, it would explain his failure to find him.
"How did you find out he's there?" Mike's voice trembled. He seemed to believe Alexander, but even so, what good would knowing do? His men couldn't enter the royal palace, let alone rescue Nick.
Mike's heart pounded. The "boss" had assured him Nick would be safe if he obeyed the organization. Could the mastermind beโฆ
"Alexander, help me rescue my son!" Mike pleaded. "Since you found him, you must know how to rescue him! I'll give you all my wealth! I don't want anything else! My business, too. Iโฆ"
He trailed off, leaving Alexander to sigh. "Mike, why would I want your business?" He abruptly changed the subject. "Did you let Austin go on purpose?"
Mike took a moment to understand. "Y-Yes."
"That means you intentionally released him to spread the virus?" Alexander was surprised.
Mike was stunned. "What virus? What do you mean?"
"You know nothing about it?" Alexander questioned suspiciously, wondering if Mike was feigning innocence.
"I don't. Wait, noโฆ Alex, what are you talking about? Did you say virus?" Mike sounded genuinely confused.
Alexander pondered as Mike grew anxious. "Alex, Austin's case was a trap set by the organization. I'm a victim, too."
