Spoiled by Mr. Russell, Chapter 2038
Since Austin had been too busy, he quickly made three simple burgers. His cooking skills had improved considerably in recent days, and the burgers smelled delicious. Galen devoured his, and Austin passed one to his granduncle, asking, "I've completely removed the virus, right? Your pulse has been good since yesterday. Could it be concealing itself again?"
"I don't think so," Dominic replied, shaking his head and stretching. "I feel completely energized."
"That's great! If so, we can use acupuncture to draw out the virus. Though, I still don't understand how the needles managed it," Austin mused, still puzzled by the previous night's events. He had removed the virus, but the mechanism remained unclear.
Dominic shook his head. "It's not about drawing it out. When the virus encounters its rival, it's overwhelmed and dies."
"Rival?" Austin paused mid-burger, cocking his head. "Are you saying his immune system kicked in?"
Dominic looked at his grandnephew approvingly. He thought, He's getting smarter.
Enjoying his burger, Dominic explained, "From a mainstream medical perspective, yes. Our bodies suffer when we can't recover from a virus's attack, weakening our organs. Still..." He paused, turning to Galen and lovingly holding his hand. "Thank goodness for this little guy. Discovering the antibodies in him was a blessing."
"Yeah, we owe everything to Galen this time!" Austin agreed. "I never expected his blood to contain antibodies."
"The silver needles only worked because they were soaked in the medicine containing his blood. In other words, Galen defeated the virus," Dominic clarified.
Galen, overhearing, blinked in confusion. However, sensing their praise, he grinned.
Dominic's worries melted away at Galen's grin. Chuckling, he said, "You deserve the most credit, little champ! I'll buy you tons of yummy food as a reward. And I'll reserve all my best herbs to make up for your sacrifice."
The initially beaming Galen frowned at the mention of herbs. "I don't want them. They're bitter!" He remembered Lily's herbal remedies and their unpleasant taste.
"Hey, do you know how many people want my herbs?" Dominic playfully patted Galen, chuckling. "Even your mommy's been eyeing them!"
"Mommy..." Galen brightened at the word, but his joy quickly faded.
Dominic immediately regretted mentioning Lily. Galen's sadness pained him. "Don't worry, okay? Your mommy will return soon. Maybe she'll even bring your siblings!"
Dominic worried silently. Lily should be giving birth soon. Why haven't we heard from her? If even Alex fails to reach her... His concern for Lily grew.
