Chapter 21

Perhaps Olivia's taste was a little unconventional.

"Whatever. You're hungry, so come eat." The takeout in the bag was still hot. Lily, also hungry, decided to take the food to the outdoor table to eat together.

She no longer focused on the question, but Olivia remained fixated on the "Is there something wrong with your taste?" remark. Even after they sat down and picked up their cutlery, she couldn't help asking, "Which part of my description was inaccurate?"

Lily was speechless.

"Fine, then tell me, how was he awkward?"

Thinking about it, Lily decided that appearance was subjective. However, Alexander's work style was far from awkward.

"I asked him who he was and why he was here, and it took him ages to simply answer that he was from the company. Think about it. We're talking about me. Not long after I arrived, I met everyone here. I could tell at a glance he wasn't from the company. Let's not even talk about other things. He tried to bluff me. Is that awkward or not?"

Olivia analyzed, "If he's here for you, he should be upfront. There's no need to fabricate a lie about being from the company. What a ridiculous excuse!"

After her rant, noticing Lily's silence, she worried Lily was angry, and carefully explained, "Nonetheless, this could mean he's honest, since he can't even lie." Olivia didn't know Lily was considering her words, imagining Alexander saying this to the media.

Indeed, Alexander was from the company. That much was true. However, few lower-ranking employees had met him. Even Jenny had only met him a few times, let alone ordinary employees. Olivia had just arrived; it was reasonable she didn't know him.

His behavior was a little awkward, now that Olivia mentioned it. "W-What about being ugly?" Lily asked after a moment's thought. Even if this caused a misunderstanding about his looks, could their sensibilities be that different?

"I-I was telling the truth. Lily, don't be angry," Olivia clarified hesitantly. Regardless, Alexander was Lily's new boyfriend; criticizing him was inappropriate. Furthermore, Olivia was currently eating the takeout he'd brought.

"No, I'm not angry," Lily denied with a nod.

However, it was just idle chatter. Lily knew Olivia meant no harm. She wanted clarification out of curiosity about how others perceived Alexander.

She'd seen many magazines and media outlets describe him as resolute, decisive, and ruthless. As for his looks, he was considered a national treasure. Online sources might criticize his methods or coldness, but never his appearance.

Lily was captivated by his looks and completely smitten. Olivia, however, was different, so she simply listened.

"Actually" Biting her cutlery, Olivia reconsidered his appearance. "He looked fine."

Lily's eyelashes fluttered. "Fine?!"

"If you look closely, he's quite good-looking. It's just that his face is a little too square. He'd look better thinner. He's tall and looks sturdy, but that's good because he can protect you." Squinting, Lily compared Olivia's description to Alexander's face.

'Is Alexander's face too square? Does he look sturdy?' "Are you sure we're talking about the same person?" Lily became suspicious.
