"Hey, my sister married you when you were a nobody, remember? How could you forget your promise to her after becoming successful? If you kill me, I'll haunt you!" Fabian was furious, believing that was Cameron's meaning.
"She's not dead," Cameron replied.
Fabian was stunned. He blinked, thinking he'd misheard. "What? What did you say?"
"Rhea's still alive," Cameron continued, pausing. "Maria should know."
"How's that possible?" Fabian disbelieved him. "She died in an explosion; the police provided proof. There was an autopsy report. Everyone saw Maria's grief at the funeral. What bullshit are you spouting?!"
Fabian considered Cameron a liar. How would I not know if Rhea is still alive? However, Cameron's gaze was firm despite his apparent indifference. "It doesn't matter if you believe me. She's alive, and she's done unimaginable things. You're here because of her!"
Fabian's eyes widened. Overwhelmed, he dropped to his knees. "R-Rhea's alive? But how?"
He felt a conflict of emotions. He should be happy, yet Cameron's words hinted at something far more complex. "I... don't understand," Fabian frowned, hesitant. "What did she do?"
After a silence, Cameron said, "Horrible things."
Fabian's once-splendid house was in disarray, belongings scattered across the floor. The servants had already left.
Maria paced, muttering, "Why is this happening? Why?!" Her hair was disheveled; she wore no makeup. Then, she heard a car approaching and looked outside.
