Listen to this chapter:

Lily's words terrified Fred, causing him to clutch his stomach. "You're just trying to scare me!"

"You'll soon find out whether or not I'm telling the truth," Lily smiled, settling back into her seat as she looked at him. "So? Do you want to make the deal? I'm tired and need my rest."

Fred glared at her, unsure whether to trust her. He couldn't tell if she was being truthful. He'd initially dismissed her poison threat as a bluff, but a physician had proven him wrong. He didn't know how much he could trust her now. The pain returned, causing him to clutch his stomach. Though he appeared calm, sweat beaded on his forehead.

"Should I take the risk?" he wondered.

After a moment's hesitation, he said, "Fine, I'll give your children to your husband and show you the live feed. However, you must immediately give me the antidote afterward!" Lily nodded. "Deal!"

Alexander was perplexed when he received an anonymous letter. It instructed him to wait under the sixth maple tree on Maplewood Street after dark. He continued reading, seeing that someone was to give him his "kids."

"Kids?" he questioned, alarmed. He initially feared someone had kidnapped Galen, and made a call, relieved to discover Galen was with Dominic. Still, he couldn't decipher the letter's meaning.

Mike asked, "Kids? Is the letter referring to your twins?"

Alexander understood the implication but found it improbable. "Lily and the twins are with them. Why would they do that? Did Lily write this letter?"

He considered this, finding it unlikely. If it were her, she could have simply brought them home. Why this arrangement?

"Perhaps someone rescued them and wants to deliver them to you?" Mike offered another guess.

"We know where they are. Since we failed to find them twice, it's unlikely anyone else could rescue the twins," Alexander shook his head.

"Well, why don't we go tonight to find out?" Austin suggested.

"Not so fast!" Alexander raised a hand. "It would be great if they brought the twins. Hell, I don't even care if it's a prank. However, what if it's a trap?"

The others fell silent. That's right! What if it's a trap?

"I have a way," Cameron, who had been quiet, spoke up. "I can arrange a stakeout. If anyone shows up, we make an arrest. That way, we can also find out what's going on."

Alexander nodded; the plan seemed sound.
