Though a little startled, Austin quickly explained, "A servant from the estate called, saying some foreigners took Uncle Dominic away." The servants weren't sure who these people were, but it was clear their employer had been forced to leave with them. Knowing they needed to alert someone, Austin was the first person that came to mind. While not exactly Dominic's student, Austin was considered one of them; he was their employer's grandnephew, had lived with them for a time, and, most importantly, had cured them of various ailments.
Upon receiving the news, Austin immediately suspected someone and sought out Alexander.
"Foreigners?" Alexander mused, a particular individual coming to mind.
"Do you think it's Fred?" Austin asked, as if reading Alexander's thoughts.
"I do," Alexander nodded. "But why abduct Dominic? Could it be for the experiment?"
Although the experiment required various experts, they wouldn't have waited until now if Dominic were truly essential.
"I have no idea," Austin frowned. "But the servant said Dominic left willingly, so it's likely more complicated."
Silence fell between them. Austin then peered curiously inside.
Catching himself, Alexander opened the door wider. "Come in." He wasn't trying to hide anything from Austin, simply wanting to keep the presence of Ross and the details of his stay discreet. However, since Austin was already there, he might as well confide in him.
"Are you sure?" Austin hesitated, understanding Alexander's previous reluctance to include him. He wasn't upset, merely curious.
"It's alright," Alexander said. "I had my reasons for not including you, but you deserve to know. Let's talk inside." He gestured inside.
Austin entered. Seeing Mike, a foreigner, seated on the sofa, and Edward standing nearby, he quipped, "A secret meeting, huh?"
Alexander chuckled. "Not really." He led Austin to Ross. "This is Prince Ross of Yudonia."
"Oh..." Austin understood immediately. "Now I know why I wasn't included. Don't worry, my lips are sealed." He chuckled, looking at Ross. "Long time no see, Your Highness!" Alexander and Mike were surprised.
Giving Austin a friendly hug, Ross replied, "Hey, Aust. It's been a while."
