Mike didn't reply. He suspected something was amiss but couldn't pinpoint what. As they pondered, the car braked suddenly, causing them to lurch forward. Alexander reseated himself and looked ahead. "What happened?"

"Sir..." The chauffeur pointed.

Alexander saw a woman blocking the car, arms outstretched. Seeing the car had stopped, she rushed forward and banged on the window. Austin was shocked to recognize her. "Why is she here?"

The woman was Rhea's mother, Maria.

"Sir?" The chauffeur looked over his shoulder.

Alexander waved him off and opened the car door. "What can I do for you?"

Maria lunged forward. "Where is my daughter?! Did you kidnap her?"

Alexander prevented her assault. "She's not with us," he said calmly.

"You're lying! I saw you taking her away!" Initially, Maria expected Alexander to hand Rhea over to the police. However, after a while, she realized that wasn't going to happen. "She escaped," Alexander replied truthfully. He deduced from Maria's reaction that Rhea hadn't contacted her mother after escaping.

"She escaped?" Maria hesitated, then shook her head. "I don't believe you! How could she escape? There were so many of you. Besides, if she escaped, why hasn't she called me? You must have hidden her somewhere!"

Maria's agitation grew. "Return my daughter to me!"

She tried to strike Alexander, but he easily restrained her. Austin exited the car. "Rhea did escape. She's at the Yudonia embassy. You should look for her there." Maria was shocked.

Alexander was surprised by Austin's statement. He glanced at Austin, who shrugged. "Rhea's there. Check there if you don't believe me. As for why she didn't contact you... perhaps she doesn't wish to see you?"
