Cameron, Anastasia, and his attendants entered. Lily was shocked to see them, exclaiming, "Secretary Rollins?!"

Everyone rose. Lily glanced over her shoulder at Alexander. She suspected he knew about Cameron's visit, likely having arranged it.

As she expected, Alexander smiled meaningfully at his wife before approaching Cameron. "Thank you so much for coming."

"It's my duty. Let's dispense with formalities," Cameron replied, gesturing for everyone to sit.

After arranging for tea, Alexander ensured they were left alone. Olivia and Edward's knowledge of the situation notwithstanding, discretion was paramount.

"It must have been tough for you," Cameron said, holding a teacup. He glanced around before focusing on Lily. "Especially for you."

"Tough luck, I guess," Lily shrugged, unease settling in. She wouldn't have chosen any of this.

Cameron smiled. "Don't be nervous. I'm here to tell you the government's decision."

Anastasia squeezed Lily's arm. "Yeah, you're something else, Lily. Dad only meant to compliment you." She was thrilled Lily was safe and well, especially after their long separation.

"I know," Lily smiled, patting her hand. "You seem to be in good shape and have lost a lot of weight."

"All the credit goes to you and him," Anastasia said, glancing at Austin. "I recovered so well because he helped adjust my prescription and cured my infection." Austin smiled, surprised and embarrassed. "I'm glad I could help."

"All right, now's not the time for catching up. Tasia, leave us for a moment," Cameron said, clearing his throat. He didn't want his daughter overly involved.

However, after learning of Lily's return, Anastasia had insisted on accompanying him. True to her promise, she rose. "I'll talk to you later, Lily." Lily nodded, curious about Cameron's news.

Alexander stopped her. "Tasia, feel free to use the guest room upstairs. Would you mind asking Mike to come down?"
