Olivia sighed and asked, "Why are you taking him seriously?"
"There's some truth to it," Lily said, her voice tinged with emotion. "Local perfumers and brands are gaining popularity, but many still believe international brands make better perfumes. That's not the case for our perfumes."
Olivia shrugged. "To some extent, it's true. Right now, the average standard in the country can't compare to large international brands."
"Maybe not right now, but we will be able to in the future," Lily declared, her eyes fixed on this goal. She was determined to work hard to achieve it. One day, her perfume would be a major international player, proving to the world that Hyderland could create top-quality fragrances.
"Lily, since you're home, I'll go now," Olivia said, turning to leave.
Lily tugged on her arm. "Wait! Since you're here, why not stay for a while? I was drunk last time, so let me entertain you properly today."
"It's getting late," Olivia protested. "I might not be able to get a car later."
Lily smiled, holding onto Olivia's arm. "No problem. Worst-case scenario, I'll ask Edward to drive you home."
At the mention of Edward, Olivia blushed. "I don't want to trouble anyone."
"It's no trouble at all. Alexander will pay him overtime," Lily reassured her, pulling Olivia toward the gated community. Lily had her access card this time, so entry was easy.
This was Olivia's second time in this luxurious neighborhood, the first having been in Alexander's car. Nervous, she entered with Lily, looking around thoughtfully. As they walked, she concluded that the lavish residences were indeed spectacular; the high prices were justified.
The houses were not only large but also grand in design. Every detail was exquisite. Each unit was well-spaced, ensuring ample privacy for residents. The neighborhood resembled a private garden, with at least sixty percent greenery. Even at night, the scenery was breathtaking, and surely even more beautiful during the day.
After admiring the surroundings, Olivia entered Lily's house, speechless at the sight of it.
"Take a seat," Lily said, changing her shoes at the entrance. "What would you like to drink?"
"A-Anything is fine," Olivia stammered, feeling slightly uncomfortable in the large, grand house, even though it wasn't her first visit and they were alone. She wasn't sure how to act. She sat on the sofa, looking around as Lily returned with two glasses of juice. Olivia accepted a glass and asked, "Are you two the only ones living here? There are no maids?" On TV, such houses always seemed to have numerous maids and nannies.
"Alexander likes the quiet, and so do I," Lily explained. "We have someone come to clean and tend the garden, and another who does the housework. We prefer this for better privacy." She shared Alexander's preference in this matter.
"That's rich-people thinking," Olivia chuckled. "Ordinary people can't relate." They chatted, and Olivia relaxed, leaning back. "If it were up to me, I'd hire a hundred maids to clean, wash, massage, and chat with me every day! You have the option, but you don't want it."
Lily couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Are you sure you wouldn't be scared with a hundred strangers in your house?"
