Chapter 342

Leonel suddenly found he could speak. Stunned, he exclaimed, "I-I can talk! I can talk again!" Overjoyed, he forgot his predicament, babbling, "Bro, bro! Look, I can talk again! I'm not mute anymore! Look!"

"Shut up!" Christopher snapped, annoyed by Leonel's outburst.

Leonel subconsciously closed his mouth. The driver, regaining awareness of their situation, tried to move but found himself paralyzed. He felt no ropes, only numbness. "How come I can't feel anything?" he wondered.

Christopher, witnessing Lily's movements, instantly recalled reports of Eastern body combat techniques—once dismissed as interesting curiosities. He'd never believed someone could immobilize others with a flick of the wrist, yet here it was. This small, seemingly frail woman had easily subdued three large men, silencing and immobilizing them.

"What do you think?" Lily asked, smiling. "You know my secret, so tell me one in return. Who do you work for? What's your name? Why did you tie me up? What were your plans?"

Christopher remained silent, as did the driver.

Lily shook her head. "You're not ordinary gangsters," she observed. "You're probably well-known, right?"

"Of course!" the driver boasted.

"Then you shouldn't fear death," Lily smiled.

Christopher scoffed. "Being defeated by you will be the joke of the century! Kill us, then! Quit the nonsense! We won't tell you who we work for!" He couldn't reveal their employer, both because of their rules and because he doubted Lily would kill them. Their carelessness had cost them; three against one, or even spreading out, might have yielded a different outcome.

Lily, oblivious to his thoughts, finished her bread and milk, patted her stomach, and burped. Her eyes twinkled. "Why don't we play a game?"

"What game?" Leonel asked reflexively.

Christopher elbowed him. "Who wants to play games? Kill us, but don't play tricks!"

As he spoke, a sharp pain shot through his mouth. "Ahhhh!" he cried, realizing Lily had pierced his bottom lip with a small knife.
