Chapter 345
"What do you want me to say?" Jo asked.
His sunglasses were slightly askew but still clinging to his face. Lily found them unsightly and removed them. She then understood why he wore them: he had only one eye. One eye glared at her; the other was cloudy and blind. Despite being tied up, he struggled.
"Tell your employer I died of an overdose after your injection. Tell him to come quickly," he instructed. Lily knew the mastermind only wanted to control, not kill her. He would rush over if he thought she was dead. "Will you let us go after I say that?"
Jo's one eye narrowed, a cold light flickering in it. He glared at Lily.
Lily chuckled. "Just kidding! You kidnapped my assistant and me, and you expect me to let you go? What wishful thinking!"
"Then why should I listen to you?" Jo sneered.
Leonel, sweating profusely, quickly interjected, "I-I'll call our employer!"
"Bro!" Jo exclaimed incredulously. "You're still the most obedient!"
Lily took Christopher's phone, patted Leonel's face, and dialed their employer's number.
"Bro, if you make that call, we're finished! No more jobs for us!" Jo hissed.
Lily laughed. "Why? Think you can keep this up? You should be worried about seeing tomorrow's sun!"
"Even if we die, we won't betray our employer!"
Jo desperately tried to stop Leonel. "Bro, don't!"
"Iโ" Leonel began.
"It's fine if you don't; dying's easy. Nothing's easy except death," Lily said dismissively. "But have you heard of 'survival of the fittest'?" Jo remained unconvinced. He stared at Lily with his good eye. "Girl, do you think we're stupid? We lost a fight, but I'd rather die than listen to you!"
"Good, keep your dignity," Lily applauded sarcastically. "Since you're so proud, I'll think of a gruesome way to deal with you."
She paced. "Let me seeโฆ how about I cut you into pieces before burying you?"
"W-What?" Leonel stammered.
"That's right! Maybe I wasn't clear. It's simple. This small knife will do. I'll just need another net to secure you, then I'll slice off the exposed flesh, one piece at a time. I'm trustworthy; I'll keep my word on the number of cuts. No more, no less. Care to try that?" Lily asked, smiling chillingly.
