Chapter 368
Lily's face grew serious. She disagreed with Wesley.
"I think you're wrong," she said. "It's not that there aren't excellent perfumers in our country. Other countries have simply poached them. I'm a prime example. I could choose to leave, but I want to stay and grow in Hyderland. I hope that, in the future, the world will recognize Hyderland as a producer of top-tier, internationally renowned perfumers."
Wesley sighed. "All right, I respect your decision. But contact me if you change your mind."
"Thank you!"
"Haha," Wesley chuckled, "I finally understand why Lisa likes you so much."
Lily smiled. "Maybe it's because I'm honest."
Wesley, laughing heartily, saw her to her car, smiling all the way.
Lily recognized Alexander's car. After bidding farewell to Wesley, she confirmed her suspicions upon entering the vehicle. Giselle wasn't there.
"Where's Giselle?" Lily asked.
"I sent her away."
Lily was surprised. "She listened to you?"
Giselle was headstrong, stubborn, and persistentโeven more so since Lily's kidnapping. How could she simply leave?
Alexander raised an eyebrow, exuding an air of authority. "I'm the boss. Why wouldn't she listen?"
Lily found his demeanor amusing, but unconvincing. "Really? She's quite hard-headed, and very protective of me. Don't you dare bully her!" Since the kidnapping, Lily had grown close to Giselle.
Alexander replied bitterly, "Seems you're quite protective yourself."
"I had George give her a more important task at the hotel. Her job here is handled." Lily thought, This man is abusing his power!
"She believed that?"
"You know her. She follows orders, but she worries. She wouldn't leave until she saw and confirmed the company car," Alexander explained, gesturing to the car they were in. Giselle only left after verifying the company car.
Lily's phone was on silent while she chatted with Wesley, so she missed Giselle's calls. Checking her phone, she found a long message from Giselle. It urged Lily to verify the driver and car, to call the company for confirmation, and to wait in the venue lobby.
Lily's heart warmed. She felt fortunate to have so many people who cared for her.
