Chapter 507

Edward followed Olivia's gaze suspiciously, startled by what he saw. "Ms. Oakley?!"

"Huh? You know her?" Olivia asked casually, ruffling her messy hair.

Edward had no idea how Brittany had found this place or how she'd gotten into a fight with Olivia. Questions flooded his mind, but he knew this wasn't the time to ask them. He squatted, helping her up.

"Ms. Oakley, h-how did you get here?" Edward stammered, at a loss for words at Brittany's disheveled appearance. Her unexpected arrival was bizarre enough; seeing her beaten up was incomprehensible.

He was utterly confused.

"Waa Waa" Brittany wailed, the pent-up sadness of the past few days finally erupting alongside the recent grievance.

Most importantly, Edward was here. If he was, Alexander must be nearby. Brittany was sure he'd appear soon. Allowing Edward to lift her, she cried, "E-Edward! Where's Alex?"

"Mr. Russell isn't here. I'm only here to take care of Ms. Hart," Edward replied. "Ms. Oakley, are you alright?"

Brittany tilted her head, looking at him with teary eyes before resuming her sobs. "D-Do I look o-okay to you?"

Olivia, watching from the sidelines, couldn't help but snicker. Moments before, this woman had swaggered in, acting high and mighty, even attempting to bribe Olivia with a check. Now, her head was swollen, her makeup smeared, and her gorgeous curls resembled a bird's nest. She looked so ridiculous that Olivia couldn't contain her laughter. Edward glanced at Olivia, signaling her to stop.

Olivia's snicker, however, only enraged Brittany further. "How dare you laugh at me?! Edward, look! She beat me up! I need to tell my parents so they can avenge me! I need to talk to Alex. How can he marry such a vulgar and savage woman?!"

Waving her finger angrily at Olivia, Brittany had an epiphany.

"That's right! She beat me up! How can this ruthless woman, who goes around beating people, be married into the Russell family? How can she be Alex's wife and be in charge of the family's affairs? She's not worthy!"

Edward, comforting her, was puzzled. 'Marry?!' A suspicious look at Olivia revealed her standing proudly and quietly, a smile playing on her lips.

He was speechless.

"Don't be so complacent! The Russell family would never let a woman like you be their daughter-in-law! Watch your back!" Brittany threatened, finally stopping her crying and wiping her face.

"Ms. Oakley, d-did you say that Mr. Russell wants to marryher?" Edward's curiosity overwhelmed him; his eyes darted between Brittany and Olivia. The situation was baffling.

"Don't know about that?!" Brittany's eyes widened in surprise. 'How's that possible?'

Edward, Alexander's personal assistant, part-time driver, and bodyguard for years, was closest to Alexander. How could he not know?

"What don't I know?" Edward was confused. "Has news of Mr. Russell's marriage been released? No way. From Ms. Oakley's words, it sounds like he's about to get married. But isn't he already married?"
