Chapter 536

"Forget it. I know she's a perfumer. Maybe she made the perfume for herself. That's why I can't find it," Brittany said, disappointedly.

Arianna shook her head. "Look at you, giving up so easily. I never noticed how persistent you are, or rather, aren't. How did you manage to pursue Alexander for so many years?" Brittany had initially believed she had a chance with Alexander—she knew no other woman was in his life, or his heart—and considered them soulmates. However, seeing how Alexander looked at Lily shattered her years of confidence. He had never looked at Brittany the way he looked at Lily. Not once.

"Whatever, I can't find it, and I don't know how to make it!" Brittany said self-deprecatingly. "What was I thinking? How could I win a man's heart with a bottle of perfume?"

"Are you stupid?" Arianna exclaimed, grabbing Brittany. "You don't know how to make perfume, but someone does! Is she the only perfumer in the world? She's not even the top perfumer. If you think the perfume might be useful, look for it! Or, find someone better to make a superior perfume. It doesn't have to be the same."

Brittany admitted Arianna's words resonated. She would have given up, but Arianna's words spurred her to reconsider. Arianna's right, she thought. There are many perfumers besides Lily. Plenty of top perfumers—getting a better perfume isn't impossible. It's just a matter of price.

"Butit may not be about the perfume at all" Brittany said hesitantly.

"It might not be, but it might be. You've insisted on this for so long; you have to try. How will you know if it works if you don't? Since you're this far, go for it, right?"

Arianna's words chipped away at Brittany's hesitation.

"Do you know any top perfumers?" Brittany asked thoughtfully.

Arianna paused. "The Tanner family is in real estate—nothing to do with fashion or beauty. I can't help you there. You'll have to find one yourself. It shouldn't be difficult, though. Anyone can help you, if you're willing to pay!"

"You're right!" Brittany nodded vigorously. "As long as I have a chance, I should try!"

Lily whispered, handing Justin a well-packaged box, "This is for Grandpa. Tell him to light it in his room every night, but not on his bedside table."

"Aren't you going to give it to him yourself?" Justin asked, taking the box. "What is it?"

"It's a scented candle for better sleep. I hope it helps Grandpa," Lily sighed. She'd done more research on this than any other perfume she'd ever made. It was for her grandfather, after all. It needed to be safe for him and potentially helpful, though it wasn't medicine.

"Take Grandpa to the hospital for a check-up, if possible."

Justin placed the box in a bag. "You know his temper," he said lightly.

"B-But" Lily began, but Justin interrupted.

"When are you and the Russell boy getting married?"
