Chapter 666

"Justin!" Henry roared. "Just because you've held the family seal for two years doesn't mean you can disrespect your elders like this! We're still unsure who heads the family until we know the truth about your grandfather's death!"

Justin nodded. "Yeah, you're right! We need to know the truth about Grandpa's death, soโ€ฆ" He nodded to his assistant, who picked up the phone, hunched over, and murmured, "Okay. Got it." Then he reported to Justin, "They're about three minutes away."

"What are you doing?" Henry demanded.

"It doesn't matter who I bring here," Justin said. "We're discussing a family matter that should be settled within the family. We have the forensic report, but if you're still going to denyโ€”"

"You're wrong!" Justin interrupted loudly, hands clasped behind his back. "This isn't just an internal Lodge family matter! Since Grandpa's death is unclear, this is an unsolved crime! A human life was taken, and I've chosen to look past personal grudges to find the truth."

A sharp siren wailed outside, silencing everyone. Henry and Jonathan's expressions changed dramatically.

"You called the police?" Henry asked.

"Yes," Justin said. "Let the police investigate. If Grandpa was poisoned, what poison was used? How was he poisoned? Who is the murderer? We'll find out." He glanced at Lily, and they exchanged smiles.

Calling the police was a joint decision made by Lily and Justin. The Lodge family's power and image were insignificant compared to their grandfather's death. Earlier, Lily had worried when she hadn't seen Justin or the police.

"Justin, you unfilial brat! You'll embarrass the entire family and ruin our reputation! The Lodge family will become the laughingstock of the town! You've wronged theโ€”"

Lily interrupted. "Unfilial brat? Does making false accusations because Grandpa's death is unclear make you filial? You mentioned the family's reputation? What reputation is left after the chaos you created?"

She continued, "It's ridiculous that you're here questioning the head of the family! Didn't you accuse me of murder? I'll cooperate with the police; I have nothing to fear. Only the guilty are scared!"

Despite Henry and Jonathan's reluctance, the police arrived. The forensic department would examine Wilfred's remains, and all relevant parties would be questioned.

Henry hadn't expected Justin to involve the police, even at the family's expense. Before leaving, he glared at Lily. "Lily, do you think you've defeated me? You're still too naive." He offered Justin only a fierce stare.

Lily expected to go to the police station. She desperately wanted to know how her grandfather died and whether he was murdered. She wouldn't let the murderer escape.
