Rose knocked, entered, and hesitantly presented the letter to Mr. Russell. "Mr. Russell, this" she began, placing it on his desk and stepping back, unsure of his reaction. Has Ms. Christian told the CEO about her resignation? She's been doing fine at La Beautรฉ Group, so why is she resigning suddenly after the press conference? Leaving after the controversy was resolved is puzzling, she thought.
"Yes?" Alexander asked, raising an eyebrow. He gently opened the letter and skimmed it.
Rose carefully explained, "This is a resignation letter from Lily Christian. The HR department awaits your instruction."
He smiled faintly. The HR department, unwilling to approve the resignation, had sought his approval. He'd offered to handle it personally, but Lily insisted on the standard procedure. He signed the letter. "You may leave now," he said.
Rose was speechless. I didn't expect everything to go so smoothly. The boss didn't even get upset!
Seeing Rose remain, Alexander asked, "Is there anything else?"
"Nothing," she replied, but then hesitantly asked, "It's just that why would Ms. Christian resign now? Wasn't the trouble resolved? Is it about the Perfumers' Society? The company could handle that; it shouldn't be a major issue." The practicing certificate wasn't compulsory; if legal action were necessary, there were several loopholes they could exploit. Compared to the "poisoning" incident, La Beautรฉ Group considered this a minor matter.
"She has her own plans. If you're curious, ask her yourself," Alexander said with a knowing smile, dismissing her with a wave of his hand. "Go."
