Chapter 831

"What if the Perfumers' Society pressures La Beauté Group?" Lily asked.

Olivia was stunned. "Umm I don't think so!"

"As one of the largest companies, why would La Beauté Group fear a mere Perfumers' Society?" Lily smiled, glancing at Olivia. "Do you think the Perfumers' Society is just a simple NGO?"

"Many well-known perfumers are members, including the director and president," Olivia said. "If they unite against us, it will impact our perfume production. Do you think they're just perfumers?"

Most members held significant political influence. Even though technically subordinate, they possessed the authority to set industry regulations, dictate practices, and even ruin careers through public humiliation. This was why Lily disliked the Society; it had strayed from its original purpose, and she wouldn't let that happen to her.

"Knowing that, why are you joking around? Think of a solution!" Olivia exclaimed, realizing the seriousness of the situation. She'd assumed Alexander could handle everything. But after hearing Lily's explanation, La Beauté Group might be outmatched, even with Alexander's help. How could Lily remain so calm?

"What's the rush?" Lily said disapprovingly. "I can stop them from ending our careers. Let them try. As perfumers, we should focus on creating better perfumes." To Lily, perfume-making was paramount.

Olivia started to speak, but Lily suddenly stood. "Hey, I've got it!" she exclaimed.

Olivia was puzzled, but noticed Lily heading towards the foot of a wall. The logs Lily had planted earlier looked bare, but closer inspection revealed several small green shoots. Though few, they were vibrant and delicate.

Lily squatted, sniffing them closely, then gently twirled the leaves between her fingers. They were tender, breaking easily to reveal sap. She rubbed the juice on her fingertips and sniffed it, her face lighting up.

Olivia approached. "What is this?" she asked, remembering Lily planting what seemed like ordinary wood a few days ago. She'd thought it dead. Olivia had seen many perfumery raw materials, but never fragrant wood. It smelled like any wood, not a common ingredient, yet Lily treated it as precious.

"That's some good stuff!" Lily smiled, her demeanor unaffected by the potential career-ending threat. She'd anticipated this, knowing Noah's actions and mentally preparing herself. "Go get a tray," she said, turning.
