Chapter 339
Men and their damn desire to win ran their whole lives. Nathanโs question didnโt surprise me at all.
Right now, I was sitting on his lap, feeling the raw, dangerous energy coming off him.
When I didnโt respond right away, Nathan gently cupped my face and kissed me, not giving me a chance to say no.
โTell meโฆโ Nathanโs voice was low and rough, like he was on the edge of losing control. It felt like he couldnโt move or do anything until I answered him.
But then, my mind snapped back to reality. The way he was being so intense instantly reminded me of that moment with Jared when he even tied my arms with a belt.
Nathan kissed me with an obsession, his eyes burning with desire.
But I gently pushed him away and stood up.
Nathan froze, looking at me, confused and lost.
I turned and looked down at him. โIf you ever end up with someone else, are you going to compare me to her? Will you talk me up or put me down to please her?โ
Nathan was at a loss for words, his handsome face turning bright red.
โYou know things between Jared and me are in the past, but you still have to bring him up now, when weโre having such a good moment?โ I pretended to be annoyed.
I figured it was time to set some ground rules. If I didnโt, heโd get way too cocky. This was my show, and I was in charge. If he wanted to play, heโd better play nice, or else the game was over.
โIโm sorry.โ Nathan stood up and gently wrapped his arms around me from behind.
Even though he apologized, I could tell he was secretly pleased with what I said.
By stopping him from bringing up Jared, it showed that Jared no longer had a place in my heart.
โI wonโt bring him up again, okay?โ Nathan whispered in my ear, his voice deep and husky, with a hint of happiness.
โPromise me,โ I demanded.
โOkay, promise,โ Nathan replied instantly. When I didnโt answer, he raised his hand like he was swearing an oath, โIf I ever ruin the vibe again, you can kick me out.โ
I turned around and pressed my finger to his lips. โStop. Donโt say it.โ
The look in Nathanโs eyes deepened, like he had been waiting for me to stop him from making that vow. This man was always one step ahead, always had a trick up his sleeve when it came to flirting.
His gaze turned helpless. Nathan was clearly in a much better mood now and pulled me back into his arms.
โVictoria, can we finally get to the main point?โ Nathan asked with a low tone.
โJust want to know whoโs gonna end up single? Heaven only knowsโฆโ Maybe Iโd been too repressed in my previous life, but now I was letting go and not caring about anything.
โWhat does that even mean?โ Nathan grinned.
I burst out laughing, refusing to explain.
โTell me what it means,โ Nathan pressed, not letting it go. When I still wouldnโt answer, he pushed me down onto the couch. โIf you donโt explain, you might miss your chance.โ
โWhy donโt you show me what you can do first?โ I replied with a sly smile, my eyes full of mischief.
Nathan was practically breathless now. He wasnโt playing around anymore.
โTurn off all the lights. Every single one,โ I said. Even though I was just as eager as he was, I was afraid of the hidden cameras in the hotel rooms, so for safetyโs sake, I was fine with doing everything in the dark.
Nathan let out a low chuckle and switched off every light in the room as I said.
Maybe it was the darkness messing with my mind, but in that pitch-black room, I felt wilder than usual.
Nathan almost couldnโt handle it, but in the end, he stayed in charge for a full hour.
After we were done, Nathan still wouldnโt let go of me, holding me tight. I tried to push him off and told him to take a shower, but he wouldnโt budge.
