Chapter 138: Oasis's strategy(1)

After the meal, Oasis, the city lord Cedric Valen, Captain Garven, and the city lord's son made their way to Lord Valen's private office.

The room was simple at first glance, but as Lord Valen tapped a button on the wall, a hidden door slid open, revealing a spacious chamber beyond.

This room was clearly designed for strategic planning, with a large round table at the center.

Upon it lay a massive scroll and a detailed map of the Dawnhail region, marked with key locations linked to their plans for dealing with the Crimson Hand.

Oasis's sharp eyes scanned the room.

So, he's been preparing for this, he thought, impressed by the thoroughness of the setup.

As they took their seats around the table, Lord Valen observed Oasis carefully.

When I requested help from the Lunaris sect, I didn't expect them to send someone so young, the city lord mused silently, trying to mask his doubts.

But this kid is fascinating—so calm and composed for someone who hasn't even come of age.

Breaking the silence, Lord Valen gestured towards the scroll.

"Young master Oasis, this is the information we've gathered about the Crimson Hand organization."

He pointed to several key locations marked on the map as he explained their scouting reports.

Oasis listened intently, comparing the intel against what he already knew.

While the city lord's scouts had uncovered some useful locations where the Crimson Hand operated,

their knowledge of the group's hierarchy and strength paled in comparison to what Oasis had discovered during his time in the region.

After Lord Valen finished his explanation, Oasis raised his hand to point out a few things.

"City lord, I see that all seven locations marked on the map are in remote areas, a bit far from any towns or villages," Oasis began.

"It seems like they are hidden in valleys, with rocky terrain. Are these hideouts permanent, or are they temporary?"

Lord Valen looked at the map and thought for a moment.

"That's a good question, young master Oasis. The scouts did specify that given the rocky terrain, it's possible these sites are near mines."

Oasis's eyes narrowed as he followed this line of thought.

"Mines… which means slavery camps," he concluded.

His deduction shocked both Lord Valen and Captain Garven.

This kid is remarkable, Lord Valen thought, casting a glance at his son.I hope he's learning from Oasis.

Captain Garven was equally impressed.

He's sharp. So this is the future of the Bluemoon family…

"Yes, young master Oasis," Captain Garven confirmed. "Our scouts reported several slavery mining camps in those areas."

Oasis stepped closer to the table, grabbing the ink pen and marking Mistvalley on the map.

He drew lines connecting Mistvalley to three of the nearby mining camps.

"I think these three camps are linked to Mistvalley. "

"Since Mistvalley is the closest town to the Kingdom of Ironhold, whatever they're mining likely gets transported through Mistvalley and sold in Ironhold."

He continued, explaining how he had noticed that most people in the Dawnhail region didn't own storage bracelets because of their high cost.

"This suggests that the Crimson Hand, being profit-driven, likely uses convoys or superiors with storage bracelets to transport the goods," he theorized.

At this point, Lord Valen interrupted, "Young master Oasis, what does this have to do with Ironhold?"

Oasis, realizing he had yet to share the full extent of his knowledge, responded, "Let me explain"

He then proceeded to lay out the hierarchy of the Crimson Hand organization, describing the Council of Three who led the group,

The fifteen executives under them, and their affiliations with the Kingdom of Ironhold.

The information was staggering—Oasis had uncovered far more than the city lord had imagined.

This kid's been here for only a few weeks, and he's already dug this deep into the Crimson Hand, Lord Valen thought in amazement.

Oasis also warned of the Black Boar Mercenaries, who were connected to the Crimson Hand, and how their leader was based in Mistvalley.

"They're likely involved in the transport of goods from the mines to Ironhold."

After absorbing the new information, Lord Valen leaned forward.

"How do you think we should approach the situation, young master Oasis?"

He couldn't believe he was asking such a question to someone so young, but Oasis had already proven his strategic mind.

Oasis didn't flinch, his demeanor calm and focused.

"Our approach depends on our manpower. Captain Garven, what kind of forces do we have available?"

Captain Garven stepped forward and explained the current strength of Belvan Town's forces.

"We have a total of around 800 men. Of these, 500 are part of the combat unit, 200 belong to the long-range unit, and 100 serve in the shadow unit."

"The average level of cultivation is in the intermediate stage of the Tabula- Rasa realm."

"Our strongest is Lord Valen himself, who is at the advanced stage of the Awakened realm."

"The second strongest is our vice-city lord, currently away on trade matters, also at the advanced stage."

"I, Captain Garven, am the third strongest, at the intermediate stage of the Awakened realm."

"Each unit is led by someone at the beginner stage of the Awakened realm."

After hearing the breakdown of their manpower, Oasis nodded thoughtfully.

"I think this will do," he said.

"Rurik, the assassin I fought, was likely an executive of the Crimson Hand, or at least second-in-command to one of the executives."

"That means we'll be dealing with people of similar strength."

Oasis began laying out his plan.

"We need to strike swiftly and simultaneously. The Crimson Hand is scattered across multiple locations, which is our advantage."

"If we attack recklessly and they manage to call reinforcements, we'll be in trouble."

He pointed at the seven camps marked on the map.

"Each camp is likely overseen by an executive. But these aren't the only places they operate."

"They must have other spots in towns for their other operations. We'll need to reduce their strength without raising suspicion."

The city lord asked curiously, "What do you mean by that, young master Oasis?"
