Chapter 225: Even If Maggie Isn't Around

Mia quickly accused Sierra.

Sierra, enraged, lunged forward. "You bitch! You tricked me! You bitch, I'll get you!" She trembled with fury, admitting her accusation was a guess based on the jewelry's value.

Mia sneered, "Oh, is that the stupid Ms. Cameron? Did you really think someone would be interested in you, or that you'd get lucky?"

Seizing the opportunity, Mia taunted Sierra relentlessly, pushing her to the brink.

"Y-You bitch!" Sierra cried, clutching Joseph's clothes, feeling faint.

Mia grinned, her lips curling. "Why blame me? Didn't you like the necklace? It's a shame I couldn't see your naive eyes." Sierra fainted from rage.

Olivia rushed to Sierra's side, weeping. "Sierra!"

Ronald remained silent, feeling insulted. His expression darkened. Maggie, embarrassed and annoyed, whispered, "Dad"

Mia raised an eyebrow. "Oh, Mr. Cameron's here. No offense, but you've spoiled Sierra. She's arrogant, even with me. If you want justice for Sierra, tell me directly. I pride myself on being reasonable."

Ronald said firmly, "Mia, the Camerons have never wronged you. You've always been friends with Maggie."

"Enough," Mia interrupted. "I don't want to discuss this. If you want to reminisce, call my father another day. Otherwise, I'm hanging up." She hung up before Ronald could respond.

Maggie frowned. "Dad, Mia crossed a line. Shouldn't we defend Sierra?"

Ronald was speechless, looking at Maggie's frustration. He could only say, "No need." He knew the Camerons couldn't afford to alienate the Gatlins. Jordan prioritized his daughter's well-being above all else.

Maggie paused, seemingly understanding. "Dad, I get it. I'll maintain a bond with the Gatlins. Usually, I get along with Mia, but Sierra" She hesitated, aware of Ronald's position. He had to accept this, whether he liked it or not. The Camerons couldn't afford to make enemies with the Gatlins. Jordan cherished his daughter and wouldn't tolerate her suffering.

Ronald sighed, resigned. A weariness filled his eyes as he murmured, "I'm useless. Because of me, you've had to swallow your pride repeatedly."

Shortly after Maggie returned to her room, Ronald, Master Cameron, and Noah met in the study. Maggie had Lucas watch the hallway, suspecting they would discuss their next move. The study lacked cameras, hindering her eavesdropping attempts.

After a moment's thought, Maggie retrieved a bugging device Lucas had given her, brewed tea, and headed to the study. The study was well soundproofed, making it difficult to overhear anything.

She knocked. Noah opened the door, smiling. "Maggie's here!" he announced.

"Hey, Uncle Noah, Dad, Grandpa," Maggie greeted them.

While pouring tea, Maggie expressed her concerns. "Dad, what's the plan? Luster Corporation's reputation has plummeted; it's terrible."

Ronald sighed, understanding. "Things aren't good at home. We're brainstorming solutions."

"I feel continuing to invest is too risky, but doing nothing wastes our hard work. I'm at a loss," Maggie admitted, discreetly placing the bug in one of Ronald's plants. Its broad leaves would likely conceal it.

"We're all uncertain," Master Cameron sighed.

After their discussion, Maggie left, looking troubled.

Alone, Maggie locked her door and turned on her computer.

"Ronald, do you think Maggie genuinely worried about Luster Corporation, or was she seeking information?" Master Cameron asked seriously. Ronald grumbled, "Let's wait and see. I never thought my own kids would turn out this way, while Phillip's daughter is doing so well!" Noah added, "The Camerons' situation is tricky, but solvable. If Maggie marries Mr. Harris, our problems will disappear."

Master Cameron agreed. "That's right. I didn't expect her to win Mr. Harris over! If she marries him, we'll have years to strategize. Even if Maggie isn't around in the future, the Harrises will respect our past relationship."

Maggie's brows furrowed. If I'm not around in the future? she thought. Do they plan to kill me? Or is it something else? Why a few years?

Maggie gasped, hearing Ronald sigh. "I hope that happens, but dealing with the Harrises won't be easy!"

Noah added, "Even without the Harrises, she has a chance if she understands Nathael's intentions. Ronald, foster a strong relationship with her, ensuring her loyalty to the Camerons."
